job application

Was just wondering especially the way things are at the mo re lack of work especially with no 2 yr exp.
How’s the best way to “sell” yourself or apply for jobs away from home ?
Do employers take 1 look at your application and just bin it cos you live 100 miles away ? Or do they take into account you just want to work and will jump at the job ?
I hope they dont as there is no local work near me (mid Wales) :exclamation: :exclamation:

I think the problem is, employers look at someone who lives a long way off and assume that if they offer you a job you will leave as soon as you can find something closer to home.

You and I both know that is not always the case but thats mainly how employers look at it which means they will have to go through the whole job of finding someone again and that costs time and money.

I see what your saying M G
I suppose tramping for me would be an idea BUT a complete newbee i imagine will find it very hard to get tramping work or any work come to it. :exclamation: :exclamation:
Suppose you just can’t tell whats going to pop up tho just a matter of knocking on the right door at the right time.
Think i’m going to send my cv off to all the local ish small hauliers 1st tho and go from there.

Check out this thread, i posted some advice on there, please dont think im trying to say i know it all cause i dont but this worked for me so i can only say give it a try, i know its dishartening but believe me it will come, ive just landed the job of a lifetime and only passed my class 1 the begining of this month so trust me there is something out there, but as always it wont come looking for you ,you have to find it and dont think something is to good to go for, i really hope you get something soon.
