Job advert mis print?

Seen a job advertised with these hours, i don’t think they are correct

Mon-fri 7-1700 sat 7-12 with a rota system giving you 1 sat in 4 off.

Surely that’s 3, 6 day weeks out of 4 should it not be 2■■?

Don’t want to challenge it if I’m wrong

You would have to start at 9am on your second and subsequent alternate Mondays surely

So with 3 x 6 day weeks…how can you have your weekly rest…the regulations state that you are supposed to take a 45 every week…so for 3 weeks you are only getting a 43 hour rest period, so are in fact breaking the rules, unless on the monday you start at 0900 which gives a 45…but you must not work past midday on the saturday or this adds to the start time on Monday…but you could in effect finish at 10am saturday to keep you within the legal limit.
If you check on the vosa website for the regulations, you will then have something to show your TM.

Those will be the hours of attendance for the days concerned and my guess would be that your rota will include 3 Saturdays in 4 and a day off in the week. If that day was a Monday then there’s your full weekly rest.

Think about it how would you stay within the 48 hour average if you are doing 55 hours a week (less breaks/POA time) in 3 out of 4 weeks.

Maybe it’s a typo and should read 1 out of 4 Saturdays on.

week 1 finish saturday 1200 noon start monday 07.00 is 43 hours rest
week 2 the same and 43 hours rest
over the 2 weeks need 4 hours to compensate week 3 off therefore you get 17.00 Friday till Monday 07.00 which is 62 hours you get a 45 plus the 4 hours en bloc to compensate the previous 2 weeks

week4 start again

You could only do that once and even that’s not a certainty.

In your example you’ve had reduced weekly rest periods in weeks 1 and 2 and a regular weekly rest period in week 3, that leaves you with reduced weekly rest periods in weeks 4 and 5 which would be illegal.

does week 3 not reset the clock

mattecube:
does week 3 not reset the clock

You can’t legally have only reduced weekly rest periods in two consecutive weeks on a regular basis.

looking at it again I agree as every second week must be a 45 within the working week however if the fixed week contained a 45 and a 24 then it maybe possable

MAYBE but its late and I need a pencil and paper lol

I cant see where it stipulates that !!!

Article 8 - (EC) 5641/2006

  1. In any two consecutive weeks a driver shall take at least:

two regular weekly rest periods, or

one regular weekly rest period and one reduced weekly
rest period of at least 24 hours. However, the reduction
shall be compensated by an equivalent period of rest
taken en bloc before the end of the third week following
    the week in question.

Tachogragh Im looking at page 22 and 23 in these rules that I think are 2011 I still need pen and paper to workout hours in fixed week and working week as I say its late but am enjoying the debate thanks

Simple solution. Get a job that only expects you to work 5 days…

Does the job include lube, or do you bring your own?

Oops, double post… :-/
