The whole thing makes me laugh, especially the celebrities and politicians all taking the moral high ground when I bet every single one of them employs an accountant to ensure their tax bill is as low as possible. I bet all the people criticising him are just jealous that he had found a tax scheme that was better than the ones they are on.
At the end of the day anyone who is self employed does the same, none of us will ever tell our accountant to make sure we pay as much tax as possible. Same goes for anyone on here who has ever used the Nova scheme or anything similar, or an umbrella scheme. What Jimmy Carr did is just the same, albeit on a slightly bigger scale.
Personally I think anyone who says they would not take a legal opportunity to pay less tax is a liar and that is essentially all he did.

I don’t see the difference between moving lock stock and barrel as a tax exile or funding a legal loophole to stay in his own country and borrow a few quid to survive 
I would do exactly the same and so would anybody else who were astute enough.
