Jeremy Vine vs HGV drivers

Do we think Vine should be sacked by the BBC about this>?

Free speech and free opinions are the bedrock of a democracy.
No, lefties don’t believe in free speech as such they believe that opinions that they share should be aired freely, and rammed down the throats of everyone else, views they disagree with should be silenced.
That’s why socialist communist states tend to be totalitarian indeed fascist in nature, only the state’s approved version shall be heard.

We don’t need to behave as they would, attempt to cancel those we disagree with, instead their views should be heard by everyone so their intolerance and vindictive nature is plain for everyone to see.

So by what you are saying Juddian:-

Socialist communist states tend to be totalitarian indeed fascist in nature, only the state’s approved version shall be heard.

Just like Boris Johnson & our current govt then ■■?’

Sacked is a bit too extreme, but it’s very worrying what a senior police officer said about the lorry driving. What the ■■■■ do they expect us to do? Now we can’t pass a cyclist even if we’re in another lane■■? Yet they can cut through traffic however they want :imp:

If you are supposed to give a car’s width to cyclists, these cyclists are effectively taking up two lanes. The entire traffic flow is reduced to the speed of the cyclists on a two-lane road.

Interesting to note that the two cyclists infront of the police officer seemed to manage to ride two abreast without encroaching on the outer lane so much.

If there is a group of cyclists, it would really help us if they did ride something like regular formation so you know what you are dealing with.

As an aside also, the police officer seemed a bit all over place even before the lorry got near him.

I probably would have used caution and either moved out if safe or stayed behind. At the end of the day we have to deal with what is thrown at us, including inadvisable outings like this.

Indeed, what else would you expect from a bought and paid for govt that is still operating as the Blair regime, just as it did under Cameron (son of Blair as he described himself) and the utterly preposterous May.

As an aside, it still baffles me why anyone expected Johnson to be anything other than the self serving buffoon he portrays so well, sometime what you see really is what you get.
Not so baffling though as to how Blair won three general elections on the trot.

Its not the govt that’s our worst enemy its our electorate.

To be fair though, compared to other western democracies such as Australia Canada France (who voted Macron back in :unamused: ) and New Zealand, our govt remained reasonable as did their police during the pointless lockdown period.
They serve as a warning to what happens when you allow WEF approved socialists to become dictators.

If watch video Jeremy vine filmed it was at front of pack someware.
The problem and issue is with the policeman near the back of the pack riding at the.middle.of the lane and putting is hand on the side of the truck.
Being police he should know better .
Personally he should be repremaned have action taken against him not Jeremy vine.
All he’s guilty of is filling and posting it

Not sure why Insulate Britain & similar risk going to prison by gluing themselves to the road when all they need to do is get on their bikes & legally hold London’s roads to ransom.
The current rules would make it a simple job for them as proven by the ironically named “roadpeace” in that video. They have just shown how easily road wars can be won with the backing of the Police.
There is clearly no such thing as an obnoxious, arrogant, dangerous, careless or trouble causing cyclist anymore - they can do no wrong.

As a pedestrian, cyclist, car driver & truck driver - all in pretty much equal measure - I can say the new rules are damned annoying.
As a cyclist I get close passed frequently by bullying motorist just as they always did but I also have to put up with over generous drivers who insist on staying behind me for way too long causing me to ‘gutter ride’ to make it clear they can pass.
As a pedestrian I’ve not noted any extra consideration by cyclists (who probably incorrectly think they are no.1 on the list) but I now have to be particularly careful when approaching the kerb. I don’t want cars stopping in the road to the danger of themselves & other road users just because they think I am going to cross. It is particularly dangerous near to roundabouts where I am sure all the crash for cash scammers will be queuing up once they figure out the no lose situation they now have available to them.

I genuinely do want road peace & I always strive to minimise the effects of the failures of myself & others whilst always looking for the route of least conflict - a mindset clearly lacking from the conflict seeking vocalists from the video.

None of those cyclists really look over their shoulder very much. The copper in question changes lanes without a look too. I’ll guess he’s not a regular cyclist.

Thats ridiculous it says in the highway code you should overtake as if overtaking a car, they are taking up a lane that a car would normally be in and the lorry is in his own lane.

Think that’s outdated now, but, yeah, always thought that advice suits me fine, I’ll pass a car with millimetres to spare if the conditions dictate it (crawling speed, etc). So same for cyclists!

Another way of looking at this, is “Who still wants to do a run to Barbican via old street mad-a-bout” and worry about always being in the crap all the time, just trying to earn one’s daily bread?

I’ve been bollocked for taking an alternative route into this place, so I’m quite surprised the firm have come out on the side of the driver… I wonder what made the notion that “driver had been suspended” here?

On another note - anyone got any comments about the Crescent Madness that is the modern Elephant and Castle “system” Two semi-circles, rather than a pair of roundabouts, with an oblique approaching lane of cyclists right up one’s “Angle Des Morts” and all…

You stop at traffic lights in the first pic. The second lights less than ten yards ahead go green (whist the nearest ones stay red) and just as you are sticking it into gear to start moving forward, having mis-read the lights here - a stream of fast-moving cyclists comes pouring out of the light blue cyclepath from the right side, at an angle that you cannot see them…

It says taken with a helmet camera, which has me wondering which way Jeremy Vine was looking while all that was going on. Certainly not in his direction of travel. I’d be watching as it came past, but not looking back to that extent. How would I know what was in front of me, whilst moving?

Video has been “tampered with”, stopped, speeded up(at points) and captions added. Would make it useless as evidence.
