As I was speeding back to Hereford in our range rover, with all the lads’ weapons :sunglasses: I got a tug off the law at chiswick after finishing the decorating on the balcony! as he peered through the windows he said " was that you on the tv 20 mins ago? :unamused: " to which I replied " of course! orriface " to which he told me " drive safely now, won’t you? " the look on his face = priceless! :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

I missed it by 20 minutes, the King of Belgium was giving me a medal for saving those people at the Wally Stop that day.

PMSL

I would’ve emailed in but it’s dangerous when driving.

But seriously, I was on agency for Stobart when that M5 crash happened last year, and I’d forgotten my sat nav, so got them to print me a map of the place I was going to, then sat in the cab and planned my route (very difficult lol) so left the yard later than I normally would, got diverted off and around the accident, might have been in front of it, might have been involved in it, no idea, but definately a day I’ll remember.

As the news broke of the 9/11 attacks I reflected on how easily I could have been killed or injured there, if I had done better at school and chosen a different career path it could possibly have been me dying there instead of driving a truck in North Yorkshire at the time.

Close one I’m sure you’ll agree.

If I’d been born 500 years earlier and been remotely religious I could’ve suffered at the hands of Henry VIII and been kicked out of my monastery and shoved in with all the other peasants scratching a living and dying of the pox… :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

‘…Jeremy Vine today…!’

Don’t do it to yourself, man :exclamation:

Whine is a covert reminder to thinking men  that:

1. Ken Bruce has gone to the bar
2. Steve Wright has probably started a sad preparation for his ego outing at 14.00
3. ‘You & Yours’ is shared with ‘The World at One’ on BBC Radio Four at the same time - brilliantly followed after a snooze by The Archers :exclamation:

Meanwhile & off thread:

How come The World At One funkily abbreviates itself to WATO - when the initial letter makes it priceless

I missed it by 5 minutes

i also missed the lottery by 5 numbers too.

I was supposed to get on the Herald, but when I got to Zebrugge to book in, the ticket clerk told me I 'd have to drive to the Kennedy Tunnel to join the back of the queue.

i was nearly on the herald with my dad, two lorrys were running back to easton ,other driver called the yank was on it ,he suvived but it ■■■■■■ hes head up for life

my dads mate johnny hodge who worked for Thompson jewitt was booked on but couldnt get on cause it was over booked they offered him a free meal and a couple of pints I think if he waited for the next one so he did and that is a true story

My mum was visiting my brother in the USA.
She was on the flight before the one that crashed into the field on 9/11.
