I was tipping at well known crisp & snack factory in Billingham this morning and was chatting to the security guy like you do mentioned it was a bit cold and he told me that managment had come over to him earlier and asked him could he put a sweater on when he comes out to check a vehicle in or out because walking around in a short sleeve shirt was making some of the office staff feel uncomfortable,WTF,nice centrally heated office and they feel uncomfortable poor dears.

Wouldn’t Crackers at UB Billingham have been a better title?
Good job I don’t have to go there, I probably wouldn’t be allowed on site. Until the weather gets colder I am still going into work each night in a short sleeved polo shirt. My co driver is from Jamaica and he turns up looking like he is ready for a trip to visit Santa, woolly hat, jacket, gloves and so on while I turn up looking like I’m ready for a trip to, well… err… Jamaica.
We have a little battle each night with the heater controls. On the way up while he drives I have to suffer Caribbean temperatures and on the way back down he ‘enjoys’ more in the way of Scottish temps, so much so that he sleeps in his coat and hat while I sleep with the window open. We get on well though.

I don’t get it, why was the office staff uncomfortable seeing him in a short sleeve shirt? Has it got to the stage now when we are told when to feel cold/warm, happy/sad, world is gone mad.

Mate we can’t even get on site when we’ve business there.
The induction is a ■■■■ take. You’ve got to have your office fax over copies of your public + employers liability and motor insurance certs. Then the stupid method statements for the permit to work. FFS, I understand a need for elf and safety but this place takes the mick.
It took me longer getting onto this site than it did Del La Rue’s at Team Valley. And they print bank notes FFS!
I had to go there 'cos a jonny was tipping powder, had the tank right up in the air then it wouldn’t come back down, hence need for fitter. I was in the security bit for well over an hour, and it was proper windy outside.
I just said to them in the end, “I won’t need to be on site soon anyway, leave it any longer and it won’t be a service van you need, it’ll be a wrecker to pick it up with”. They looked bemused so I asked, work out this equation: Lightweight Empty Tank + Large Surface Area + High Elevation = ■■?.
Here’s a clue, the ■■■■■■ will blow over.

Can’t really argue against anything he says in that article. They are pretty much my thoughts exactly.
I’m guessing that him and I would have the same views on motorway bridge fallers, or those who threaten to fall.
I’m sure someone got nicked for playing a record to someone threatening to jump of a bridge onto the road. Van halen’s JUMP was classed as inappropriate.

It would be, not allowed to use that term. Now something by The Fall wouldn’t be a problem.
