January Trucking britain survey

Should truck drivers be drug tested?

The Senior Traffic Commissioner believes transport operators should randomly test drivers for drink or drugs: do you agree? Have you already got a procedure in place? And if so, do you test all staff and not just drivers? Tell us in January’s Trucking Britain survey.

We also want to know your hopes and fears for 2014, and whether you expect to award a pay rise in 2014.

We’ll reveal the results in the 6 February issue of Commercial Motor.

The survey should take about five minutes to complete and, to thank you for completing it, you will be entered into a prize draw to win £100.

I totally agree with drivers and operators being tested , having previously been in the army for 12 years I only think it’s right that all ranks get the same treatment we all do , we all do the same job and get the same troubles n tribunals!!!

I know companies like DHL do drug testing, usually at the start of your employment and then random ones. Surprising why it isn’t just the normal now in the industry to be drug tested, does anyone have any statistics in how many accidents/deaths have occurred where hgv drivers have had drugs in there system??
