Is here new place too posh ,doesn’t feel like a transport cafe to me,didn’t feel at all comfortable like old place, took my grub/tea to truck, not sure she’s done the right thing there, place was dead as well, haven’t been in before so maybe just a bad time
cant blame her for trying, the old little chef was empty for long enough so she tried to take advantage of the size of the place, i think if they did away with the flowers and fancy tablecloths and concentrated on drivers instead of the odd caravanner/sales rep they may do better
Just enlighten me as to exactly where on A19 Jans is please
Jim
exelby southbound, used to be the portakabin/little building in the left corner of the lorry park, now in the old little chef next to the petrol station

Gotcha , thanks
I called in today. No radio or television blasting out, nice and pleasant girls waitressing and good value for money. So if you don’t use it, you will lose it, and what happens then? Drivers complain that there is nowhere to stop.
Call in and treat yourself to a breakfast or a special!
For those who do not know, Jan’s is next to the BP station on the A19 South at Ingleby just after the caravan park that used to be a pub.
And Where Am I Wolfie was at the pumps.
Stopped there myself week before last, thought exact same with it feeling too posh but the breakfast was spot on and I would definitely stop there again !!!
And then you wonder why folk bother. Lass puts her time and money into a business and all you lot can do is moan and whinge (as usual), this time about it being too nice. There again if it had been dripping in fat, ■■■ ash over it and just thrown over the filthy table you’d have moaned just as much.

ive been in…its the best idea ever…tidy…good food…cheap…friendly staff…comfortable…warm…the list goes on…keep up the good work…
Lincoln farm has about 200 trucks a night, they have not spent a penny inside or outside, the table and chairs must be 40 years old, and the gap between the table is too big, the showers area is large, but need updating, but they are doing something right, that is a real transport cafe, the meals come with lots of gravy, and the staff are friendly and religous.
Parked overnight there couple of weeks ago.Pay in garage get £2 off purchases and showers in there.
jan’s not to posh for me as I did not walk in there with dirty boots, overalls or scrappy high vis jacket on.I actually thought this is how cafe’s should be.
Home cooked food was very nice too.
I preferred the feel of the old place and I can’t be the only person to notice that the prices went up when they moved from one side of the car park to the other…
Personally I think anyone who wants to set up a cafe could do a lot worse than open one in Jan’s old building. I bet if you did then (as long as the food was half decent) the truckers would immediately all head back there. I don’t know if Jan actually owns that building but if she does and has any sense she’ll not sell it or it could spell the end for her new place.

Stopped in there a few times last week, yeah the old place had a bit more of a drivers appeal to it but i suppose Jans moving with the times and not getting left behind. Plenty of room to sit and enjoy a home cooked meal, still VERY resonably priced, and you can get a pack up for a decent price too. Thumbs up from me !
Even tho’ there was nowt wrong with the old place

By too posh you mean its actually clean and you don’t get salmonella merely by walking in the door?
