James Hunter & Sons WISHAW

Sandy hang on in there. I’ve already spoken to the mechanic, Campbell Sneddon, mentioned above and ahe is going to be asking around for you. I’m seeing him very soon and will up-date you. Some questions he asked. Was it Shotts he came from and the 6 wheeler was it a rigid or a 6 wheel unit and what was the full registration? and apologies for going on but Do you have any photos  One of the biggest motovations for people initially coming on here is to track the comings and goings of their old man in days gone by so your definately in good company on here. Were you ever daft enough to get into the old game yourself? …jim

Hi jim the motor was a ERF KV with wrapped round screen. We think the reg was BGM 801. It started life as a 6 wheeler tipper and then was converted to a tractor. Sorry no pics. MY dad came from Shotts and i did also. He left hunters in 75, and went to Corby and i went too. I am not in the game but I pilot a forklift for Stobart. cheers sandy

the only comment i can make my friend, is that my mums unckle was willie shaw of shaws meat markets and i think he was from around there. he went ■■■■ up up in the 70s i think. never knew him at all , only met him once. my grandfather set him up in buisness and somehow his mind failed him after that. oh well families. are from round that area? my mum was. i spent my school holidays oin the farms round uplawmoor…jim
