As above, what is the best route into James croppers plc in kendal?
Will it be Burneside road through kendal or hollins Lane from the A591?
I will be in an artic at 14’7" high.
Mucho thanks
Hollins lane should be ok bottom of there turn left then right at the church just hope another truck doesn’t come the other way on hollins lane
Hollins lane and turn right at the church bud.
I was leaning to go the other way, so thanks for that chaps
Might be tight the other way as theres a 14’ 9" bridge in the way out if kendal on burneside road - pity as its a nicer road. I just hope the cars patked around spar in Burneside arent parked stuidly, assuming it still exists.
Dont be tempted to come in off the A6 as that is a nasty road even in a car, although met plenty of artics on there. They actually narrowed it a few years ago.
Cheers Trevor, saw the bridge on my map book, though I will be 14’7", though I will go with the crowd down hollins Lane
The road of the A6 to Burneside is closed as the bridge is still out. As to Hollins Lane, I might be wrong but I think that it has been closed to HGV’S. So the only route is in to Kendal and under the bridge.

Hollins Lane is no fun on the way out if fully freighted. I’ll be going the long way under the bridge next time! You can just get a high cube container under it.
Been a few years since I worked in Kendal, but one thing I’ll add is if you’re going via Burneside Road - don’t try to go down the bypass towards Windermere, down the Windermere Road hill and then expect to turn left into Burneside Road. Really not sure it’d be possible to do that left turn as it’s almost a u-turn and any traffic there would block progress.
Admittedly the bottom bit of Burneside Road could be interesting with all the cars parked, but after that it might be more plain sailing. Unfortunately Kendal’s traffic system isn’t brilliant…or good…or useful…or.
I think hollins Lane may be my best option, I’m in this, and yes kendal can be tighter than dipper daves sphincter on a Tuesday
Thanks again guys.
Used both routes and yes hollins is a bit tight, but with a bit of trucking foresight it’s a doddle. I have heard they have restricted trucks on it though?
The other way is drop back down and hard left to come under bridge. Easy route.
We go in every week without issues.
Well… which way did you go?

Lived dangerously and went under the bridge
Easy route then - who dares wins Rodney [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND TIGHTLY-CLOSED EYES]
He was hoping the bridge would clatter his wonky top spots straight

I went up to that hollins Lane and it was bristling with weight and width restrictions, so though bugger that and span around and back the other way
Billy you leave my wonkyness out of this

I heard that they put weight limit on. Probably after one of ours got stuck and needed recovery to pull him back out. [emoji1]
