You don’t know how well of you all are, try working for Richard Long and co (unless their attitude has changed dramatically over these last few years)
As long as drivers work for them and put up with the ■■■■, it will be the same.
There’s a reason AK Worthingtons in Trafford Park has had to substantially increase their rate, and even then there’s an ad in the paper every week…
Personally, I need money, so I must work, but that doesn’t mean I have to work for an ■■■■■■■■
Not sure if they have a depot near you Rick, but Hoyer are advertising for drivers, there’s advertising boards with details of the job in Thurrock services. I think it says to go to driver@hoyer.co.uk for more info. Have a look at their website

Hi all
Jacked job in today on the tankers , reason being the owner was a top of the range bell end , who thought he could talk to drivers and staff like something he had just stepped in . I know it don’t put bread on the table but I don’t take that kind of [zb] off anyone this guy was unreal I won’t name them because I don’t think it’s fair, but who do these people think they are ■■? . I’ve worked my balls off while I’ve been there never late early starts late finishes etc . Anyone else take all this crap from boss? . Rant over
Regards Ricky
Goodluck,
a planner is easy to replace, a good tanker driver i don’t think so, his head will be spinning more with the next guy who don’t
know the job.

Good on you my friend.
Now if a few of our “collegues” had the balls this industry might be worth working in.
We all know what happens in a strike.
As with the miners their worst enemy where the transport industry.
And thats why half the countries drivers are working for minimum wage (or less) today.
And all you ever hear about is how "badly " paid NHS,Firemen,Council workers, teachers etc are paid.
Most of these “retire” at 55 with a nice pension.
What do you get after 65 and sleeping in a tin box for years Jack [zb].
BUT our “industry” could bring this country to its knees in hours not weeks.
We should do it. no food the government would ■■■■ themselves, its not Russia they should be worrying its us.

One of the first things on toffy boy cameron’s agenda if he gets back in is to make strikes illegal for certain workers, and you can bet that he has got sections of the road haulage industry lined up in his sights.

I’m the same mate, known for saying “here’s ya keys, you can stick your job” more than I’d like to be if I’m honest, but I won’t take any [zb].
The last job I did that though wasn’t really the companies fault, I got some grief at Freightliner at the end of my shift on a Friday night and just flipped, phoned company and told them what was going on, they were going to sort it and ring me straight back, 15 mins later I dropped the trailer and went to leave unit only, they wouldn’t let me leave so 5 mins later the unit stayed at the exit gate and I walked.
I’ve no idea who these idiots think they are, but I blame all the ■■■■■■■ in the industry, I won’t take any [zb], if I do something wrong I’ll hold my hands up and take whatever punishment, but I’m not going to be treated like a mug by some [zb] for no amount of money.
If you’re going to leave an auto anywhere don’t forget to deplete all the air before stalling it in gear.
Hi all

Lol, of course, but as I said, I was a bit angry with my company at the ‘I’ll get right back to you’, but the reason it was left there was because I was out of hours and also to ■■■■ Freightliner off more than against the firm I was working for at the time
