Last time I saw mike was about 2007/8■■
He was subbing for JHD with a DAF 18T rigid curtain sider.
No, it was a Scania Frank, a brown one, I’ve got a photo of it somewhere if I can just put my hand on it. You might remember me vaguely, I used to do a couple of days a week for Mike for the last eighteen months or so before he threw in the towel. I seem to recall that you had a yellow Merc at that time.
You’ll remember Sid Melling no doubt, and his son Jeff. I haven’t seen Sid for years, any idea how he’s going on ?. Jimmy Witherington was another subbie that I remember from those days.
You probably won’t remember, but I bumped into you somewhere in the Manchester area a few years ago, Heywood possibly, or somewhere like that. You were still subbing for Mike Harvey, but you’d changed your motor by then. I can’t remember who I would have been driving for at that time, unless it were David Pennington.
If I can find that photo of Mike’s Scania, I’ll put it on here. All the best mate. Eddie.
Before I got my Class 1 and drove for Davies.s I worked for R.T.G Light Haulage subbing out of there.
