Never really a fan of either Merc and certainly not Iveco but thought the self driving Merc looked pretty good, the operator sitting back on his lap top while the truck did all the work. The Iveco looked pretty impressive too, massive glass area providing near enough no blind spots, all round 300 dgree vision or thereabouts…
Personally, this kind of thing is equal measures terrifying and disgusting… Let’s figure out how to take work away from as many workers as possible.

A bit extreme…
Self driving vehicles are being developed with many manufacturers, its nothing new. As for taking away work, you still need an operator, the truck isnt going to its destination on its own…

True that it’s nothing new, but how long will you need an operator for? Not long. Drivers will only be there until they can figure out how to eliminate the annoying human.

True that it’s nothing new, but how long will you need an operator for? Not long. Drivers will only be there until they can figure out how to eliminate the annoying human.
Computers are good, but they can’t think for themselves and make independent decisions. They can only make decisions based on what they’ve been programmed to detect. We’ll be around in the cab until the computers can deal with almost every situation that could happen. Not to mention problem sites.
