IVECO ECM 43

Hi All,

Driver just called and his lorry wont start have ECM 43 on the dash which I believe is camshaft sensor, the engine is cranking but not firing, apparently the light has intermittently been on his dash before but a lot today also his engine management light came on a few days ago with reduced power but this also went, read that if you unplug the camshaft sensor it is a temporary fix to get started, does anybody know where they are located on a 2010 Iveco stralis 450 cursor 10

Help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Charlie

Dont know about the Iveco engine but if the cam sensor fails the engine does not know what stroke its on,so does not know when to inject so shuts down
Only engine I know that has a compression sensor to over ride the cam sensor is the small Detroit.
Some engines knock out the cam sensor once their running and just follow the firing cycle programmed into the ECU.

Come on norb sure a man of your technical ability can correct me in my diagnosis.
After all you know how to plug in a computer dont you.
I wait with bated breath.

Sounds more like a wiring loom problem.

Turned out 2 wires up from the sensor had rubbed through on a cable tie
