I've seen some shit ideas but

First time I’ve loaded out of Goole for a while ,the latest pea-brain scheme too cut down on trucks is too load cages on the truck then chuck the bog rolls / boxes of crisps up on top :open_mouth: :open_mouth: ,there’s bog rolls, boxes of crisps falling down all over the place .
The bloke at the shop was doing his nut ,there was crisps / bog rolls falling off everywhere ,then he tried too have a pop at me for not taking them off before I moved the cage :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: ,I didn’t load the bloody thing .
Then we had some manager bird just standing there shaking her head ,lot of bloody use she was .

It does not seem the ideal way to do the loading,I have to agree. Having arrived at the customer and seen the load, would it not have been better to take those really heavy items off the top of the cages before moving them ? and expressing your concerns to your employer ? No,far better to rive the cages about so the stuff on top falls all over the place to get damaged, because after all you didn’t load it did you ?,so not your problem.I would have also kicked the stuff about a bit and possibly stood on a few, just to reinforce to the customer what a terrible firm you work for :bulb: The days of handballing heavy items like boxes of crisps are long gone and nobody should be expected to do it nowadays. What about H&S, what if one of those packs of bog rolls fell on your foot and you were not wearing steel toecaps?. :open_mouth:
I’m glad I’m out of the game now Dozy, I don’t know how you put up with it.
Regards. John.

Shove the boxes and bog rolls on top of what? The 4 siders? Or the 2 siders?

I had similar last week with taco shells & poppadum boxes thrown on top.

Fair enough, they stayed on the cages - but they surely crunched into the shutter (which I’d (illegally?) wedged open even wider to help give top space) even though I’d seen their height.

I feigned mild & resigned surprise when they crunched, but being given only a few seconds time to tip each cage and dekit, etc, I’m damned if I’m carrying my “blue chip” (lol) warehouse chimps and the firm in general by handballing them like a wet nurse

I encouraged the consignee to whinge - but I doubt they will whilst the customer will pay for wastage

Ho-Hum - and hardly give a flying ■■■■ they bleeding read this

Don’t drive down the A15 on the limiter then!!! :unamused:

When I worked on the backdoor in a Tesco store this happened quite a lot, it makes sense really. We just got a few empty cages, put them next to the bay door and stacked the bog rolls & crisps on them as we went along. No big deal, they are not remotely heavy items. They didn’t fall anywhere because we took them off the top of the cages before unloading, the drivers didn’t seem to have a problem assisting with this.

Seems like a fuss over nothing, to be honest.
