I've just paid £2.50 for a stiff bristled brush

…at B&M Bargains!

Solely for sweeping the lorry bed.

If I was to put a claim in for the two fifty would I be a tight wad?

I’m inclined to let it go - the job pays well enough.

Any other examples of spending a few bob on your wagon without expecting 'owt back?

Yes, I spent £649 on silk curtains.

What I spend on my motor is for my enjoyment or use, so I don’t mind.

I’ve bought stuff like MR MUSCLE / Brushes / Hand Brushes / Dust cloths / Air freshener etc which I’ve brought in past, gave up with brushes after they got pinched though or broken :imp:

I claim everything back. If I drive down town to post my weekly invoice, I even claim the 60p car parking ticket. :stuck_out_tongue:

spent £10 on a telescopic shovel when snow was forecast, it broke at the first attempt of shovelling anything.

bargain…I landed a pair of beef curtains in 1998 and I’ve spent thousands on em. Gawd bless her.

i can’t find any new beef curtains, they are all used with the distinct aroma of fish.

I even bought my own sack truck as I got sick of the flimsy crap work issue us with

:lol::lol::lol:

I grabbed a brand new one, 2’ wide, out of the w/hse so that the day driver could do his bit in keeping the motor tidy…needless to say, 12 month later, it’s still like brand new…lazy twonkski!!

Slightly different though isn’t it.

I suppose that parking a car and claiming 60p back is different to spending £649 on silk curtains and not claiming it back, yes.

Whaaaaaaa?

I claim money back on tools I buy when I’m in the local Volvo dealer (Volvo technician, fancy!). The joys of my pops being self employed, managed to claim over £1000 the other day so that’s my insurance excess for the wagon paid off straight away. Treat myself to a pair of Super Hamptons and some gear for the wagon. Good times.

Went through the Tyne today £3.20 don’t think I’ll bother claiming

Whaaaaaaa?

I’m sure Luke’s post was just a spoof, he may be somewhat different to the norm but I’m sure that even he wouldn’t spend that kind of money buying curtains for somebody else’s truck.

Is it “wind-up night” tonight? You pay for your employer’s truck to go through a toll tunnel? What else do you pay for, tyres, road tax, diesel?

A guy once told me his pelmet smelled like cheese.

At least I think he said pelmet.

Anti bacteria wipes and cable ties.

Yes, not least in that one was a joke…

My point was that in effect its your money wether you claim it or not, but by claiming you offset the tax, being an owner driver.

I have had the same brush for 20 years . . .
