Welcome to the club it’s nothing to be ashamed of.
What did you get?
Coachman Genius, 5 beth.
pity you didn’t get a new one, to keep me in work
Very good. I’m thinking about getting a swift conqueror 645. I’m not going to be ashamed towing one lol

How do you mean?
Do you lot reckon my new astra 1.7 tdci would pull a small van? Just 2/3 birth…?

I think maybe he delivers new ones.

2nd car down.
shame really my civic aerodeck has got all the wiring for towing a caravan, it’s 1.8 petrol with a fair bit of low down torque. but the car can only tow a 1000kg, and my driving licence is post 97 so 750kg max…
Ah, right.
I still need a few ‘bits’ for it though.
It’s in not bad condition for it’s age… (NO damp ).
It’s daft things like snapped window stays that’s gone brittle with the sun that it needs ATM, but who opens windows in the winter, yes we’ve tried it out for a few weekend nights already. Can’t belive how warm they are even when there’s a frost outside.

Just so you know when driving on motorways you should sit at 53mph, when a lorry overtakes you should then match his speed until he decides to pull back behind you then you should speed off at 60 for 1/2mile then start the process again.

Double check that, someone on here pointed out to me that you’re aloud to tow more as long as it’s under 3500kg combined weight I think they said.
Not that it matters to me now, C+E gives B+E (and D+E and others) automatically.
I also tow a caravan, a Swift Alouette 5 birth, on the arse end of a 530d with a towing capability of 2000kg it just doesn’t lose any speed, anywhere - 60mph on motorways on cruise so as not to ■■■■ off the truckers
Cheers for that. Mine is the 110bhp hatchback. Book says it can pull 1600 kg
I have c&e so towing anything is fine for me. Always liked the idea of having a caravan. Only 23 years old though, might look like a gypo■■?

Should be fine with most 'vans to be honest, but it depends how the power comes in and where you go.
I had a Nissan 2.2DI before the beemer, 4 adults in car, caravan on the back, stopped at a set of lights on a hill, it did not want to get going again, and that was a 114bhp car, but under 1100rpm it was flat as a ■■■■.
The beemer I drive is 193bhp with air suspension for the rear, it’s a dream to tow with. Even the missus’ horse in a horse box, weighs in at 1900kg (MAM is 2600kg though so I shouldn’t really be towing it on the back of the car - but it’s a rented trailer, so I can’t exactly get it re-plated) and it tows great

If you passed your driving test after 1 January 1997 and have an ordinary category B (car) licence, you can drive either of the following:
a vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes or 3,500 kilograms (kg) Maximum Authorised Mass (MAM) towing a trailer of up to 750kg MAM (up to 4,250kg in total)
a trailer over 750kg MAM as long as it is no more than the unladen or ‘kerb’ weight of the towing vehicle (up to 3,500kg in total)
Roll on getting my C+E!
All this ‘not allowed this, that , the other - unless you passed in XYZ’ just confuses me.

And also take up all of the spaces in the MSA truck park so those nasty smelling diesel truck thingys can’t have a break. (Whatever one of those are.)
