Its not the vans which will replace us... apparently

We thought all lorry trips into citoes like London were going to be replaced by 10s of vans per truck, but no, it seems the department for transport has a better idea.

Now we’re replacing those horrible diesel vans with a swarm of “electric cargo bikes, [electric] vans, quadricycles and micro vehicles”.

Just a couple of catches which the DFT need to sort according to their report.

1 - they can only carry very limited cargo weights so we’ll need quite a few more of them vs trucks or diesel vans or more trips back to depot.

2 - they cant go too far so goods will need to be stored in more local hubs rather than large warehouses.

Maybe it can be delivered to big warehouses by truck, then smaller ones by horrible vans then to destination by eco bunny. That wont cause any more congestion of course.

Oh and most they arent road legal yet, but beyond that we’ll defo keep them stinking truck and vans out of our cities and make lots of free space for all those electric 4x4s.

What happened to drones…?
