It's no wonder this country's in the state it is

Its all about options guys, the more we give ourselves the easier this job becomes. Dont leave it up to planners, a bit of comunication works wonders.

I just wish a few more would think like this…instead of no my job syndrome…If the OP had done this, then he wouldn’t be on here ■■■■■■■■ and making a drama out of something out of nothing

we’re talking about Dozy, so sensible logic doesn’t come into it

A 4 day weekend, by my calculation Giggsy will be able to drink at least 40 pints before he drives again

At least, our resident binge drinking legend has set the bar quite high, im bloody going for it tonight though, lads night with lap dancing finale (hopefully not from the lads again, some of me crew go gay very early). Permission slip given from the wife to crack on… quite literally.

I’m in the same boat Dave, my gf has gone off on a girlie weekend so we decided to fly to Budapest, drink lots of beer and play with Soviet weaponry at a place I know there. We then lowered our aim a bit and decided to get the jet skis out or maybe hire a car and do a track day at Cadwell. Eventually apathy set in and we’ve settled for going to the big city (Grantham) and drinking 'till we fall over. To blend in with the locals we’ll probably puke on ourselves and wet our own pants as we stand in the taxi queue.

Nb, anyone thinking of hiring a car and doing a trackday, it’s vitally important to pay the £50 damage waiver fee first before taking back the steaming pile of twisted metal on Monday!

To be fair to dozy he is just going along with his firms way of doing things.
A lot are like that today, they don’t want drivers with initiative, they want yes men, they want robots that are ‘planned’ to the nearest minute with precision, and who are constantly watced and tracked, and anything off the tram rails of their planning is blown out of all proportion in their wait for it …‘debreif’
( debreif :unamused: ffs) and it all looks ohhh sooo ‘professional’ on paper, and on the surface.
Ok the less naive among us know it is all total corporate ■■■■■■■■…end of, no argument.
However if the same street wise driver plays them at their own game while observing them totally ■■■■ up (ok, we know they will cover their arses) their true state of being will be revealed …(ie incapable of doing their job properly) and who knows, maybe go a long way to bringing back the old proven way of doing things, ie. …A good ‘proper’ transport man running an efficient ‘proper’ driver with initiative who can react and adapt to situations himself and get the job done…that system did work for generations.

i once got a “debreif” in tosco from the same prick transport manager that thought the fifth wheel was one of the drive axle wheels,…you have had 5 harsh brakings showing up today on the computer…thats because the brakes on an axor are vicious and crap…but you were out in a volvo when this happened?..thats because im accustomed to driving a axor with crappy brakes…end of debreif. :unamused:

Yep, best laid plans usually turn into ‘bugger it, lets just go up town get ■■■■■■ and see what happens’.
I expect to be in wet ■■■■■■■ myself at about 2am, unfortunately these will also be me own.
Have a good un…
