If that’s the case, I’m due about 10 years at his majesty’s pleasure for all the times I’ve dropped 'em (lol)

And for the number of times you’ve dropped the suspension

So thad rather you hit a bridge instead of using your Brain and squeezing under it safely

It is really because your brake pressure works off bag pressure therefore with no bag pressure only the steering axle would have any braking .

Don’t give a toss if it is or not, it’s better than smacking the bridge at speed,.and it’s better than scraping under with suspension up.
As for braking efficiency he crawled at less than about 5mph for the distance under the bridge, it was hardly dangerous.

Way I see it,.the lad was on the ball, he used his initiative,.successfully got under , no.dramas, nothing to see, non event.
Alternatives?..
Smack it.
Stop short, in a stress, ring up and ask the firm to wipe his arse for him (tell him what to do)
As many do these days when they find themselves in a ‘‘situation’’ rather than work it out for themselves. :unamused:
Well done to him I say…or in his case ‘Bien joue’

It’s when they pop out the other side, reset the height, and get done for being overweight it’s passing the sign that’s the naughty bit.

Used to run a Magnum with a flat bed trailer. Going south on A36 Wilton bridge, signs said to use middle of the arch. Coming Northbound, signs said overheight. :open_mouth: Went under both ways.

Dan, perhaps if you dump absolutely all the air from the bags the braking may be affected, but if say there is 100mm of available travel in the suspension, and you lower it by 75 mm, will the pressure in the bags not remain the same?
My old Scania will drive all day at whatever height I set it at, should I wish not to use the preset ride height, with no discernable effect on braking. ( I don’t, as a rule, but often, having dropped a bit of height for some reason, only realise miles later that I’m still in semi dumped mode.)
