We’re quiet at the moment so I was stood down last Friday and Monday, did a 2 day run Tuesday and Wednesday then stood down Thursday and today
Payed salary so payed the same whether I’m there or not!
We’re a haulier not own account, it’s not unusual for standby days on full pay. Busy January and now a very quiet week
I don’t know what your hauling but we’ve found that in the building game, busy January and a quiet feb so far. Very odd, usually the other way round.
Last two Febs have been quiet, so no surprise really. Just expensive
2.20 am start…Gunwharf-Fishbourne ferry 7 am…tipped Newport…9.30 boat back…apart from short delay due to a nasty accident involving van and a car on the M3…steady drive back to the yard,clock off 1430

Major headache turned into concussion and now theyve discovered a skull fracture above my right ear. Looks like another week off at least Only so much you can do at home, give me the road any day…

Changing a wheel on a tilt id just hooked up to. Parked up fully freighted and left with a shredded tyre The extension slipped off the breaker bar and cracked my head against the side of the trailer. My ear was split open and next morning went into hospital at Calais as i needed stitches (woke up in a pool of blood). Drove back to to Malaga with a banging headache and was diagnosed with with minor concussion…now turns out i have a skull fracture…
Nice easy one for me today. Started The Stockyard at 5am, drove to Telford for a 8am tip. 2 hours on the bay so got my cab clean then it started to snow pretty bad. Then empty up to South Normanton so 16 pallets then back to the yard! Nice and easy.

Got back from an 18 day trip on Wednesday. A couple of lazy days but leave again on Saturday morning. Just been out and bought a dozen roses and some chocolates because I’m going to be away on St. Valentines Day. Got a cheesecake and some South African cider for tonight.
Digicard failed to arrive so I’m on shunting duties…
Started at 0645 and on my way home at 1315…
