It's all our fault

As if we weren’t hated enough by the majority of the public, now they’ll all probably hate us even more and blame us for this.:frowning:

the positive side is, it’s a real boost for British livestock farmers, and their suppliers (including transport).

I never eat ready meal type food anyway, but I realise that some don’t have the option.

Is it time T&D did a cookery page: meals you can cook at home, fast-freeze and take with you in a portable freezer & reheat in a microwave?

I’m not sure how you read into it that the public ‘will hate us for this’, its nothing to do with lorry drivers. Just like its not the girls at the tills fault who charge you for the stuff and sell it to you. I think its cool that there are guys prepared to whistleblow on these organisations.

Is this where all those horses go that are often seen grazing on the road side??

Almost makes it worth DIY to fill the freezer , at least you know what’s in there . I’ll refrain from visual evidence for the sake of spiking Mikes blood pressure

Behave yourself .Don’t be horsing around !!

Dunno who he works for but I don’t recognise a lot of what he says. Unwrapped meats of different types stacked on same pallet oozing juice, hand written reciept notes and no cmr, customers not knowing what meat is on the pallet. Not saying it doesn’t happen but it never has to me and I’ve done lots of meat work.

The public will see the report and just automatically assume that its the haulier and drivers that are causing this fuss about mixed up meats. It seems these days that even the silliest of things, even if its not our fault, get us a bad name and I think the same will happen here.

or it could all be a nice plug for Morrisons - why is that shoehorned in at the end ? What has it got to do with anything? It smells like a cheap advertising campaign to me .

or me.

and as for the morrisons comment, I’ve only been held up there to be used as free storage, and the only checks are quantity, not quality.
i don’t think the bloke has a clue.
No CMR? Right.

I think the pseudonym Ali is helpful here.

I’ve always used & trusted a small local butchers, never buy meat from supermarkets. I predict a lot of people will now do likewise.

Does come across liek that!

I’d trust a supermarket for fresh meat long before I’d trust a local butcher.

A welsh lamb is usually full of human DNA.

The bloke is talking absolute bull

Same here, didn’t sound like he was making much sense, I’ve done a bit of meat haulage including the crap that started this ball rolling, but it was always clearly labeled and had a cmr for each consignment, and the plug at the end was a bit transparent.

On Sky News they interviewed him but hid his face and gave him the name ‘Ali’. I could already smell the horse sh… from that point on. I’m not saying he was lying but maybe in Singh and Khan Ltd a lot of corners are cut.

It’s Sky sensationalising a story again, just like the US TV news would do.

There is a farm near to me that is called Taylors Farm, if you buy meat there (straight from the farm) you can tell the difference, but the price is very expensive. The reason it’s expensive is because it’s 100% quality. Like anything in this world, you get what you pay for ! Might go up there for a nice bit of sirloin for my tea !

The other point is that somewhere in the UK there will be a butcher doing anything to survive. How do you know what animal meat it is when you ask for a piece of Sirloin, the point I’m making is that you can’t say that supermarkets are all untrustworthy and all butchers are great, the supermarkets buy in good faith as their reputation is paramount.
