I will not comment on this except to say my sympathy lies with the people who’s homes are burgled or their cars broken into, or the more serious cases where people are mugged in the street for mobiles or cash which are all sold to buy drugs.
My sympathy to the local garage owner who’s 80 year old mother was recently attacked in the street by 3 youths for the contents of her ■■■■■, only about a fiver was taken. She won’t miss it as she died last week from the attack.
He’s a plant pot and deserves a long sentence. A friend of mine’s son started smoking it after he was involved in an accident and killed someone (bloke was committing suicide), now he’s a wreck. Psychiatrist puts it down to the skunk.
I hope if they catch the 3 youths and do them for murder and not mugging. How much of a man can you be when you have to pick on an 80 year old pensioner

They caught them and sentenced them to picking up litter, the lady was still in hospital, she died about 6 weeks after the attack.
I am not sure what will happen now but our local retired policeman believes that the case can be reheard
Trio charged with Melbourne robbery
Three men have been charged in connection with a robbery of an 82-year-old woman in South Derbyshire yesterday. (Wednesday April 21st)
The woman was walking along Derby Road in Melbourne at around 9:50pm last night, near to Budgen’s Supermarket.
She was approached by three people who grabbed her handbag and knocked her to the floor.
Members of the public came to assist her and looked after her until the emergency services arrived. The woman was left very shaken by the incident and was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital to be checked over but has since been discharged. She was readmitted three days later!
Three men were arrested, two aged 21 and one aged 18, in connection with the offence and they have today all been charged with robbery. They will appear before magistrates in Derby tomorrow.
Anyone with information on robbery in Derby and South Derbyshire is asked to ring Derbyshire police on 0345 123 33 33 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Personally, I think they should legalise the whole lot, and heroin addicts should be able to get as much of the stuff as they want from the doctor’s surgery, then they could just stay indoors and get on with killing themselves without bothering the rest of us.
I asked the local police what the judicial procedure would be in this case as a concerned village resident and they promptly sent me this reply

This is the newspaper report from the above incident. Is this what drugs do to the youth of today?
AN 82-year-old widow has died in hospital after being attacked in the street and robbed of just £2.20.
Three men pounced on Eunice Gale as she walked home, pushing her to the ground and snatching her handbag.
She suffered a fractured pelvis and bruising to her stomach, shoulder and arms. She was also left with heavy bruising around her wrist where her bag had been pulled from her arm.
Mrs Gale, who her family said was “100% fit” before the attack, was taken to hospital after the incident. She was initially discharged but the next day she was still in pain and went back for an X-ray which revealed the fracture and she was admitted.
Her son Neil said she was recovering well from the break but developed an infection and died on Friday. Her exact cause of death is not yet known but her family believe it was as a result of the robbery.
Mr Gale, who runs A N Gale repair garage in Melbourne, said: "She went in hospital and never came out.
"As far as we are concerned, whatever injuries she received, she would have never been in hospital and caught an infection if it wasn’t for the robbery. This has hastened her death.
“I am just appalled. Even now it feels like I am on a film set. It doesn’t seem real.”
He said his mother was fit and well before the robbery, on Wednesday, April 22.
“She did the garden, looked after the cats and rabbits and just days before she was sweeping the drive. She liked it because she could talk to people as they walked past.”
But Mr Gale said that her health deteriorated while in hospital.
“When she was in hospital she said she was angry that she was ‘in prison’ in hospital while the robbers were free to drink beer with her money,” said Mr Gale.
“She was in a lot of pain.”
Mrs Gale, who was well known in Melbourne, was walking in Derby Road at around 9.50pm when she was approached by three men.
Mr Gale said his mother, who wore a hearing aid, did not hear the men come up to her until she was jumped on from behind and knocked to the pavement.
They fled and passers-by came to help and stayed with her until the emergency services arrived. Mr Gale, who was on the scene within five minutes, said his mother was “badly shaken” by the attack.
"When they recovered my mother’s bag, everything was there apart from £2.20, which was all she had.
"There is only one answer in my mind — capital punishment.
"Things like this will continue to happen unless we get some sort of punishment that fits the crime.
“What kind of world are we going to have in 20 years’ time if we carry on like this?”
Mrs Gale, whose late husband Alan was a local postman, had played whist in and around Melbourne for 60 years, often organising whist drives to raise money for various charities including the RNLI. She also leaves another son Keith, and three grandchildren, Benjamin, 33, Daniel, 28, and Emily, 23.
Mr Gale said: "People have said to me that Melbourne has lost another character now.
"She was well-known because she would walk in Melbourne every day, to the shops, to see her friends, to some of the clubs that she went to.
“Her favourite place to go on holiday was the Isle of Wight and she was looking forward to going again this year.”
Mrs Gale lived with Neil, his wife Diane and daughter Emily, who is due to get married next year.
“She will miss the wedding now,” said Neil.
“We are all devastated.”
Police have arrested and charged three men, two aged 21 and one aged 18, in connection with the robbery.
Detective Inspector Dave Cox, of Derbyshire police, said: "This is an awful crime.
“The investigation is continuing and we will make sure the evidence reflects the true circumstances of the offence in the prosecution file. The court will be in possession of the full facts.”

I notice the Police were a bit informal by not calling you Mr. Wheel Nut.
i don’t know if I could vote for capital punishment if they held a referendum, but stories like this make you think.
