It must be O.K. to break the law in Scotland

Last night when I drove up the M74, one of the matrix signs said I could get live traffic info on trafficscotland via twitter,

how do I get onto twitter then ■■? ,

oh yes, I could use my phone …

Am I missing something here ■■?

I’ve replied to a tweet they put out a while ago advising drivers to slow down as there was an accident somewhere. Can’t remember the exact road. I asked what was the point in such a tweet as most drivers won’t and shouldn’t be reading twitter as the drive along the road. They tweeted back and suggested that your passenger could perhaps check twitter for you instead. Couldn’t be bothered asking them what to do if I never had a passenger with me though.

That aside, traffic Scotland’s twitter is usually very reliable and up to date. Often they report accidents on their site before the emergency services have got to the scene.

I had similar a few weeks ago on the same stretch of motorway, it was the ‘check your tyre pressures’ sign though. ■■■■ me I thought I was going to die trying to do it there and then but did just about mange it with minimal gravel rash. It wasn’t until later that someone pointed out that it wasnt actually an order and I could have done it when I pulled up at the services. They really should make these signs clearer before someone has a nasty accident

Matrix signs are starting to annoy me with pointless messages. If you have nothing to say then say nothing.
Maybe they have female operators who must say something out of sheer compulsion :imp:
