Well, it’ll look good in court.

Nice to read something other than a haulage company going bust.  So how did the trip go assuming you’ve already done it as I see it was published on the 26th July   Did you get any pictures of the trip??

Cheers

i set off about 6pm friday, went to customs at dover, it took them all of 30 minutes to sort out my paperwork.
then went on the P&O, then got to belgium. this is where i hatched a cunning plan. i decided to start late afternoon. there was a ban in place in germany, so i run 4 hours ish to the german border. then used the 4 hour window to do another 4 hours driving before the next ban came in.
woke up the next morning in a right mood, i got it in my head that the germans arn’t going to tell me when i can and can’t drive. so i [zb]ed off to poland. then up to lithuania. i had to stop to get my tax, and at this point two bloke decide to wash my windows. WHY? it’s always my windows the have to wash, they’re like moths. so i [zb]ed them off.
then the fun begins. on the lithuanian side of the belarus border its passport control, then vehicle control, then weights, and dimensions.
then it’s time to que for a couple of hours, then it’s another passport check, vehicle search, document check, passport control, vetenary control, insurance check, weights and measures. (this is all done at seperate places).
i then parked up for the night. and at 9am Elena turned up, fit as [zb]. we went to the customs building where we found out the manifest didn’t conform with the cmr, and weighbridge. someone in ireland didn’t add it up right, therefore i had to spend the whole day with Elena before following her to minsk TIR park. then i’m told i have to leave the lorry there and come back for it at 11am the next day. so i took Elena for a meal, then spend the night in an orphanage. she picked me up the next day, and a few hours later they tell me to get the truck so the can remove the seal, they opened the back doors and went [zb]ing ape [zb]. there was a case of carlesberg in there. it turns out that western beer is contraband in belarus, so they emptied everything out of the trailer, and unit, then told me to park it up. that’s how come i ended up in the hotel.

Yes Rob, he was that when he wrote a rather sensible & entertaining piece in Truckstop News a couple of years ago.

I reckon he scrubs up quite well for court :stuck_out_tongue:

Hats off to you Mr Green - well done.
It’s funny, I had a vision of you in my mind after all your posts and in real life you look normal. No offence

Quite shocked actually. I had a picture in my head of him being some kid but he actually looks quite respectable there. :open_mouth: His post content and style simply does not match the photo :open_mouth: so I reckon the pic is of someone else.
