its very difficult to hit a low bridge in Ireland, especially the republic as their rail network is sparse.but as you can see where theres a will…thejournal.ie/rail-services- … 3-Jul2013/ …PLEASE NOTE as you will see,the truck is displaying the standard practice in the south of the ( i cant be bothered putting on a rear number plate as il only have to take it off again when I get rid of the trailer,or,i left my plate on another trailer a few weeks ago,and il see it again soon enough).the drivers probably away for a pint and forgot to close his door…no hazard lights on,and none on the garda car either…wheres the biggie, just a truck stuck in the bridge, whats the panic? sure itl be dead on…
He doesn’t look stuck, he looks like he has hit it. He should have stuck it in reverse and then phoned his boss, saying there’s a low bridge in front of me.
If he’d stuck the diff lock in and reversed gently back he might just have got away with it.
Sturdy trailer that.
Reversing can be tricky when your drive wheels are 3ft off the ground.
What a stupid place to put a bridge !
Right on top of that trailer.
With it being Ireland would anyone be bothered? Best I saw there was a tractor cutting the grass in the centre of the motorway driving into the traffic with no cones or blocked lanes it was just like he was in the middle of a field.

NS drive wheels appear to be on the ground.
Shurly, if he would not have come round the corner so fast, the trailer would have fitted under the bridge??

Well when one of my colleagues hit the railway bridge in Portlaoise with a double deck trailer removing the roof, he wasn’t fined or prosecuted by the Gardai, as for his digi card well that was still in his wallet at the time.

happy days…
that says it all for the way life is over here… just a tad different in not so merry England…
Ahhh, those were the days. Running at 50+ ton, merrily chucking tacho disks out of the window…
Spain and back in one go…

what do you mean those were the days??
my mate came back with a load of peat last year straight out the bogs near Mullingar, weighed in at 57 tons, and got moaned at because there was still about a foot of space that could have taken some more,
Double post edit…

Could be wrong, but only look’s like one is 3ft off the ground.

Fdm wrote Spain and back in one go, he is not joking.
I knew drivers that would do one hits to Lisbon, Gib or Milan.
They did it for a short time , then burn out.
The nerves frazzled from no sleep.
Only stopping for a loo break.
Bribing Euro plod with coffee money or ■■■■ and booze off the duty free ferry.
Seems like I missed the best days of this industry.
