How many of you lot drive a lorry with a proper manual box (i.e with a range change and split etc)?
I personally hate autos, they make for a very boring experience and there a ■■■■■■■ pain to reverse with.
Auto with the option of override (obviously)

I drive both, depending on which truck I take, got a choice of 3,
Personally I’d take the Ishift anyday, much more relaxing and I’ve never had a problem reversing using an Ishift box.
Did drive an XF DAF a with an Auto box a couple of years ago, not horrendous, but a bit slow to react compared to a Volvo, I also had an old Premium with the old Renault Auto box, now that was a nightmare, could of easily put me off auto’s for life. 
Only ever driven manual trucks,never experienced auto yet.
drive both autos and manuals, autos are o.k but they get “confused” easily if having to do a lot of quick short sharp shunts and not very good a fast roundabouts/junctions unless you put it in manual 
I prefere Eaton but not many Companies offering such Jobs
Mine doesn’t count, it’s a simple six speed 
. I prefer manual though, the other choice is Iveco auto, and they’re bloody awful.
I-sync mostly. It’s a six speed automated zf box with ported Ishift control software.
61 reg FH 460 i-shift.
DAF Manual. 4 Speed and twin range.
Auto’s haven’t really taken off in the tipper sector yet.
Mixed fleet but modern, roughly 90% auto rubbish.
The 5 manual boxed vehicles despite older leave the auto’s behind with ease once there’s some serious work to be done…no Volvo autos unfortunately.
ive got an 08 reg globetrotter xl 480 with an i shift. 
Don’t see what the problem is, i’ve driven manuals & autos & never had a problem with reversing in either. Autos just have to be driven in a different way to manuals & a good driver should be able to drive both without problems

Manual for me, never driven an auto car or truck, drove an auto scooter once and that was ■■■■■■ 
have you noticed how those who enthuse
over manual boxes
really mean
whoossy ZF synchro ■■■■■
and not Eaton TS or Fulller RTO boxes
