Is your place busy? (Private companies mainly)

Winseer:
(My missus has her theory - everyone with zero hours dcpc like me is doing it this, and next week - pre-booked - I’m not buying it though!)
I was gonna do mine as well, but I think I’ll leave it until after Easter now. :sunglasses:

She might be right! About half of our drivers have 28 or 35 hours, we are using this week to get the remainder to at least 28 hours. It’s usually quiet the first week back, work picking up for next week and the rest of the month already.

raymundo:
The cement company we lug the sand and aggregate to in Deptford went into administration before xmas so nothing doing at all and can’t see any light at the end of the tunnel either so might have to revalidate my class 1 and get a ‘proper’ job :frowning:

Euromix?

Pallet network for me, flat out busy all over Christmas. No let up at all. Makes the day go quicker when busy

Got it in one, we have over 100,000 tons of quality sand stock piled available for immediate delivery (well not quite as it would take a wee while to shift that lot at 260 ton a time) if anyone wants to build a big sand castle

Larger per cargo quantities can be accommodated though.

That came as a bit of a surprise as they were always busy & seemed to have plenty of work!(busy fools?) I would think if administrators did their job properly it could be a viable business, but all to often what happens is that banks and administrators call in the debts to cover their loss/fees and pull the plug! or are they going for a pre-pack admin, time will tell!

Was a shock as everyone i know in that game is doing well at the moment.

I think phoenix companies should be made illegal, but in their case I am prepared to make an exception so we can get up an running again  cos bored shirtless (?) sitting waiting on the fone to ring.
I wonder if their problems might have not been something to do with their suppliers maybe wanting to give only 28 days credit but customers demanding 90 or more, just a thought mind cos no-one tells me owt, and not my business to know either. But wish them well all the same if only for the sake of my dwindling bank balance :frowning:

Wherever it is there will likely be large quantities of L&Ms going cheap very soon
Bloody AIS !! now it’s compulsorily fitted so cant ■■■■ any longer without everyone knowing where you are

Smoke them L&Ms and die ,don’t forget the suspect “vodka” good for engine cleaning!

When I used to buy the duty free for the boats I worked on L&M were always my first choice and they aint killed me … so far  and at €7.50 for 200 it would be a cheap way to go  Dare not touch Vodka though as it gives me severe murderous tendencies :frowning:

I am doing a 6 day week and they wanted me in for 6 next week too which i obviously cant do. According to the driving assessor, we are short of drivers. In January!!! If anyone is after class 1 retail/trunking work then please get in touch so i can have a long weekend before the year is up
