Hi Rocketman, that looks about right mate,
so here it is as a link for others to click and see: :arrow_right: LINK TO DfT WTD GUIDANCE.

There’s even a downloadable .pdf file of the guidance itself, so it can then be printed off. :grimacing:

http://www.dft.gov.uk/pgr/freight/road/workingtime/rdtransportworkingtimeguidance is a link to the Guidance document about the Road Transport version of the WTD.
On the top right of that page is a link to the actual document, if you want that too.

There is also a TruckNet UK translation at the top of this forum, which you’ll probably find useful.

The main points are fairly straight forward though, once you get used to using them.

No more than 6 hours work, without a 15 minute (or longer) break.
If you’re going to be working for over 6 but less than 9 hours, 30 minutes (or more) on break in total, with-in your shift.
If your going to be working more than 9 hours, 45 minutes (or more) on break in total, with-in your shift.
No more than 60 hours of working time in a working week. You can be ‘at work’ for longer than this though, time on break or POA doesn’t count as ‘working time’.
Over the reference period (of 17 or 26 weeks, depending on what has been agreed), your weekly ‘working time’ must average out as no more than 48 hours a week.

See ? Simple really :open_mouth:

I forgot to say,
a break taken for WTD reasons counts as a break for tacho reasons and vice versa.

So, if you do say 4:30 driving and take your 45 minute break, you have then also satisfied the requirement for 45 minutes on break if your shift is going to be more than 9 hours (and covered all of the intermediate breaks too).
If you are then going to do another 6 hours, or more, of work, you will still have to take another break of 15 minutes (or more) within that 6 hours.

wtd waste of time effort can not see the point in it ,no more to say on the subject i have wasted enough time already

…Thanks to you all for helping me out with this one…
