Is this possible?

I’m a bit stuck on something I’m working on and could do with a bit of help.

Background and where I’m at.

At the end of January my Dad died. I put together a 12 page folder with photos old and new and put them in a presentation folder for the wake and also as a keepsake for my mum, brothers and sisters.Anyhow, they were very well received and I have had a load of requests for copies (when I get time). I also got asked if I could send copies to other family members around the world.

I got to thinking and I’ve ended up putting together a power point show and mixed it with a soundtrack of a song played at his funeral and a tribute to him that my sister read at the church service.

I have got to a stage that I have it on a disk and all you have to do is insert the disk and press f5 to play it. (I need to keep it as simple as possible as many of the folk who want it aren’t very good with pc’s)

Here’s were I’m a bit stuck.

Is there a way that the power point can be set so that they only need to insert the disk and it will play automatically? Also I’m thinking It might be easier to upload it onto the web so it can be viewed via a link (similar to the way photos are shown on here) any one know if and where I could upload the power point remembering that there is a soundtrack with it. (The file size on the cd is currently 680MB)

I have not used any of the following but I googled a program which converts powerpoint to avi, this avi file should auto play on a PC when it is inserted (or at least prompt for the default media player to be used to open it) it may also play on a normal DVD player (depending on spec) for those without a PC.

regnow.com/softsell/nph-soft … iate=19793

i have found another shareware program here that can also convert the ppt to vcd format which DVD players should be able to recognise.

freedownloadmanager.org/down … t_39877_p/

It might need a bit of experimentation to see which works best.

Hope this helps
