£60k PA■■?
If my maths is correct (and if im honest it might actually be way off!) but I worked that out at around £16 per hour for a 65 hour week. Taking into account overtime rates, possible double time etc then the £60K figure would be based on someone working every hour available, including bank holidays, sundays and basically maxing their hours 52 weeks a year, then I think £60K a year is possible.
The ad says UP TO which usually means it is officially possible but in all likely hood unachievable in the real world.

It probably also included being on call 24x7x365, so you can probably forget ever having a drink…
Try calling a heavy breakdown out, they dont come cheap, mainly I would think its because of the type of work and the cost of equipment and the out of hour call out fees which have to be paid for ie unsociable Drivers hours although they may not do any more hours than than normal over the week. Back in the mid 70
s the company I worked for then charged £25 ph for their 8 legger Volvo wrecker.
Right can sod the tankers and trampers on £45k I’ll get out of bed whenever they tell me for £60k.
The following is reproduced directly from Richford’s own website - tells a slightly different story, I think?
‘Richford Motors are seeking professionals who have experience within the recovery industry, who also have mechanical knowledge to join our ever growing business.
If you have previous experience in recovery and mechanics please email your CV to
richfordcontrol@gmail.com
Appropriate starting wage for the right people.’
Steve
and who is ‘indeed.co.uk’?
well the AA don’t pay anywhere near that, and I think I will follow my old - if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
The devil is in the detail - You CAN earn up to …
As said if it looks too good to be true…

Me too, I’ll even move up to Derby
Believable, if you can earn 52k PA on trunking, heavy recovery for 60k sounds fair enough.
You would be on call 24/7/365. Possibly based out of a portakabin at the side of the motorway, risking life and limb to keep the roads clear whilst some thick ■■■■■ are driving past on the limiter, tailgating other trucks/cars.
Roads are dangerous places to work. I would even go as far to say, more dangerous than fuel tankers.
Fair play sounds tough work their entitled to that £60k a year
600 quid a week would me more near the mark, you will find the advert will have had a wage typo error when it comes to talking about the salary, its amazing how many jobs seem to have an error on the wages side of the adverts
one company was offering 120,000 pa for a class one, it turned out it was 12 quid an hour and it was a misprint in the advert, but it sure did get many people contacting them
One of my best mates has done 3 recovery firms in my area. He does 100 hours a week roughly, gets 1 day off a month. He takes home 5k a month, but that’s not enough to get me lying on the hard shoulder of the 25 at 3 am thanks
When your lying under a lorry dropping the prop on the hard shoulder at 2am on a Sunday morning in the ■■■■■■■ rain you want every penny of that.
I done car recovery for a few months years ago and you put your life on hold in that job
If you got that sort of money and I do mean IF, you’d earn every bloody penny of it… if you survived a year. That enough if’s ?

^^^this is spot on I keep having to call firms up to clarify the advert. I called a firm the other day as in the same advert it said:
The salary was £20,000 - £22,000 - £25,000 per year (top middle and bottom of the advert)
The job is Mon - Fri days (so its dayshift working days then)
You will work from your cab Monday to Friday (tramping? thought it was days?)
Lots of grammatical errors and typos
When I called up it was hard to converse with the guy to get clarity and then he blamed the advert on the secretary (ah there is the clarification he used to be a lorry driver and now is the hiring and firing guy
)
I love that picture, but can’t see if the vehicles are restrained in anyway… (I do hope they are!)
They’ve all got their handbreak on.
The company that does my servicing also does recovery, that wage figure might just be close to the mark, mechanics are rarer than hen’s teeth these
day’s and wages probably now reflect that shortage.
