Is the Law really equal?

Thinking is a dangerous side effect of having too much time to do nothing. One of my thinking theories is that the Law is not equal to motorists, especially in average speed camera zones.
The cameras point at the front of the vehicle but if you were on a motorbike, you could ignore the cameras and speed through without fear of getting a fine.

So, could you use it as a defense?

Wiki says the same - motorcycles cannot be detected as no front facing plate

The law is fair, the enforcement is not. Saying that a biker gets away with it so you should too would be a terrible defence in court.

As a motorcyclist…I can assure you that it is quite possible to get a ticket from a speed camera…

As a motorcyclist,I have never been zapped by a fixed camera.
Unmarked senators, are a different story though.

Speed camera yes but average speed camera

I have seen quite a few average cameras which face the rear.

The last police senator, went out of service 20 odd years ago, way before specs cameras.

Omega then

Around here the average speed cameras face the rear of all vehicles so it is possible to get a ticket on a motorcycle, the A631 is one example.

Unfortunately most are going to rear facing so its getting harder to maintain a good speed on a bike.

Have you considered that most cameras dont trigger at the lower speed limits for lgv although some now have that option?

When in roadworks, if the 8wheelers come banging past, cameras don’t work, according to a ex-special forces said in Tesco…

Isn’t that only if they carry a sticker on the back saying “Highway Maintenance”?

And fors bronze.

The A616 Stocksbridge bypass has forward facing specs which means as a biker I could go though at 100 mph and it wouldn’t even register, but I don’t, I go through at the same speed as every body else. The road has a terrible record for accidents and I don’t want to be one.
As I write this i remember i got caught speeding on there about 25 years ago by a patrol car.
