It states that at least 9 hours in rest needs to be taken IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD beginning with the end of the last daily/weekly rest.
Daily rest periods
A driver must take a daily rest period within each period of 24 hours after the end of the previous daily
or weekly rest period. An 11-hour (or more) daily rest is called a regular daily rest period.

How do the Bus driver in London?
They do Split Shift. 4 Hour work,4 Hour off and 8 Hour work. Then 8 Hour off.
Must be legal as they all Union Members.
