Is that supposed to be there? (Merged with M6 accident.)

im pretty sure we have this car at our stafford depot. i was off for two days (yeh lucky me) and when i came back a clio looking not too dissimilar to that with a half crushed roof was in the corner looking sorry for its self.

Fascinating to hear how it happened from the horse’s mouth. Well someone has just told me that they saw an incident similar to the pushing a car sideways motorway one actually happen. It was a left-■■■■■■ indicating to pull out from lane 1 in front of colleague who was approaching in lane 2. Unf, a car had not quite passed the front of the lorry in front. He saw the car pivot and disappear round the front of the lorry. Having seen this about to happen, my colleague was on the horn immediately (having NOT flashed the guy out) and got his attention shortly. As the other lorry braked, the car was released from its forward motion, albeit in a sideways direction, and, as the wheels were turned to the right in attempted extrication, it was propelled, spinning wildly, in to the armcor on the hard shoulder, across to the central reservation and back again. Again, amazingly, no-one was seriously hurt. Just goes to show how easy it is to do if conditions are just right (or wrong!).

As a reminder, this is how you do it:-
