Its definetely a first for me. Seeing someone getting compared to Adolf Hitler due to disagreements over the naming policy of Stobart trucks! …by stealing the idea from Mr Ledwinka, a constructor of Tatra cars. This is the original one, called Tatra V 570:
Tatra even filled a lawsuit against the beetle, but then this guy:
gave Hitler Czechoslovakia, so Hitler could ask politely mr Ledwinka to shut up and as a speciall offer banned him from production of his car in his factory.
As a further benefit from this deal, Mr Ledwinka was later accused by Czechoslovakia of collaboration with Hitler and after thee war he spend five years in Czechoslovakian jail.
Finally in 1961 Volskwagen paid 3 000 000 Deutshe Marks to Tatra as out of the court settlement, but it was all swallowed by the Czechoslovakian Goverment and mr Ledwinka seen not a single penny of that money. Lucky for him, he was offered an asylum and safe retirement in Germany.
Still, 3 000 000 DM for a Beetle construction ideas - that’s a good deal for Helmuts
