I’m stunned. Just can’t get my head round someone going to all that time and effort to spot trucks and record the sightings :open_mouth:

If you think this is bad, check out the E.S. spotters thread in the Photo forum, 8 pages of identical motors

i,ve been studing the names on the front of eddie stobarts trucks, and it quite clear to me that there are no female names of ethnic origin, or eastern european. what a nice gesture it would be to see a truck with a non british name on the front of a few of their trucks.

Have you been with Toby?

Why would they put polish names on the front of there trucks when the company is British?

two or three polish names on the front would be a reflection of the amount of polish people living here.

And i wounder if a Polish company would put a few English names on the front of there trucks, NO!

I am not bothered with how many Polish people that live in this country, but why is it that this country has to change there own ways to suit others?.

This is the UK, and Eddie Stobart is a English Company, Simples :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Since I returned from Europe the one thing that hits you in the face is the totally insane PC the British put up with. This theme is typical of that. In the US you are no longer allowed to say Chinese is that the way the UK is going.
Who gives a toss what names Stobart or anyone puts on his trucks except people who have too much time on there hands. I do not know if the OP is stirring it or what .
Do you honestly think a Polish company would put British names on there trucks. . To the OP

They all ready have some with names that are common for females in Poland.

If a Polish company did this then the odds are some of the names would be ones which many would regard as English.

The majority of names regarded as English/British come from either Greek, Latin or Hebrew. Others come from French, German or some of the Slavic countries.

Yeah its best ignored, don’t post on it,let it…oh bugger!!!

What the Hell, let’s go for 5 pages of drivel :smiling_imp:

what a load of ■■■ !!!

Do they actually use this names? Like, you know “Driver Henry, you will drive Anna Eliza next week?” That would be fun if some of them have eastern european names…

Imagine that: "You take Grażyna Ludmiła, you will take Rzepicha Bądzsława, John will be driving Boguchwała Cirzpisława and Tom will spend next to week driving Dzirżysława Przybycześć

Lol, there is plenty to choose from on this wikisite “Old slavic female names”: pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%BBe%C5 … %C5%84skie

Actually, that would be fun. I am starting to look out for that “?” lorry, if I win, I demand it to be called DzirżysÅ‚awa Przybycześć or, for that matter JindÅ™iÅ¡ka Å tÄ›pánka if they are really racists and don’t like Polish ones

Actually, I really like this idea… But I am only a single guy, I have slim chance to win… But if there will be more of us…

Who’s with me?

Excellent idea Orys,
How about…

Farrukhzad Gulpari (Afghan)

Fang Hong (Chinese)

Ano’ipua Alohaekaunei (Hawaiian)

Bersaba Kerenza (Cornish)

The possibilities are endless

Yeah, but the fun with Eastern European is that if you have this Asian or other names, they are usually transcripted to English pronouncation so its a chance that English speaker will pronounce them properly.

But noone will know how to spell Dzirżysława or Jindřiška
