Is Jeremy Corbyn a twat

Whatever your political persuasion, enjoy this. The red, oblong on the right of shot is a lorry - Wells Next the Sea quay, probably early to mid 70s

Bedford HA van too?

For me, I’ve had enough of Corbyn / Cameron / Syria / should we bomb it / shouldn’t we bomb it etc - I trawl through here to see old wagons

It’s always nice to see a bulk body fitted properly ,close to the tyres .

Gardner 120:
Ho ho Carryfast but seriously, is this a Truck/Lorry website or not?

If not, great - I’ll start one about how Thatcher systematically destroyed our coal and steel industry in 1984 with her private army because she was p*ssed off at Gormley’s landslide victory over Heath in 1972

Or how Cameron has cut health / education / police and our fire service back to the bone but can find billions of pounds for air strikes in Syria and then the inevitable ground war which will mean hundreds more of our brave soldiers (who earn a pittance) either killed or horrifically injured and then returning to NOWT in this great country of ours

Let me know and I’ll stop posting about ERFs, Commers, Gardner 180s and the like

And you forgot to mention the scab hauliers who aided and abetted Thatcher in her quest to destroy this country and help create a selfish society that we live in today

Would any miners have striked in support of the road haulier over the price of diesel or road tax or haulage rates ?

Punchy Dan:

Probably not because in road haulage there’s always some one else who’ll come in and cut the rate just to get the work
As the saying goes one mans loss is another mans gain
That’s the trouble with road transport nobody wants to stick together

Probably not because road haulage is not mining and visa versa .

who were these companies? then, Mmmm OWNER DRIVERS who had COUPLE OF MOTORS …WAS NOT B.R.S. i have no idea who you mean, or do you mean the likes of Stobart or do you mean all of the successful transport companies that were around in the 19 70/80/90s and the present day.

I know I might appear to go against my stated principles but I recall that during the Drivers strike in '79 they got no support from the other trade Unions and I told our Lads this at the time, “your ■■■■■■■ into the wind as far as I can see” they got no support either from the “C” Licence operators who just kept running. I can say that at the time once the strike had finally be made official by the ■■■■■■■ at the TGWU I wanted a complete short sharp shut down with the intention that the whole UK would quickly see and come to appreciate the value of the road transport industry, but no, it just became a half cocked strike of the hire and reward haulage section and the country kept limping along until the strike collapsed and hauliers drivers returned to work, nothing had been achieved except, I suppose, the election of Maggie which I welcomed with open arms for a personal business reason which I may impart at a later time ! Cheers Bewick.

Where would you like me start ?
I could probably fill this page with names of long gone hauliers that have ceased trading or gone under due to my one mans loss is another mans gain quote

No Dan your quite wrong I’d stand by anyone whose fighting to keep their jobs

True story - there was a dead tree set alight at the school I work in by some local idiots - it was on our sports field - sunny day with a breeze and it was passing as a giant BBQ

So we called the fire brigade out and 2 fellas turned up looking like ghost busters - they had big water containers on their backs and what amounted to super soakers … When they didn’t do the job (would’ve been better piddling on it) they called out a unit

The unit was a 4WD with a 300 litre tank on it - that didn’t do the job either so about 30 mins later, a proper tender came out

I was chatting away with them and having a laugh at their squirty guns and backpacks - they all turned round, looked serious and said “cut backs mate - this is it, you’d better hope your house doesn’t catch because if we’re busy that night, it’ll be gone!”

This is Coventry - 8th biggest city in England - I’m not debating politically here or laying blame at any party, just saying it seems ludicrous that we can think about bombing anyone (millions of quid) but can’t afford to put fires out :frowning:

When I was a lad Coventry had yellow tenders - this is the only pic I can find

The shop keeper’s daughter who thought the best way to run an economy was to cut the wages and the jobs of those who paid the taxes and spent the money they earn’t in the shops and on the products of the industries required to pay the wages to spend in the shops etc etc etc. :unamused:

Sounds like a great business plan for the long term survival of the economy.Oh wait. :smiling_imp:

I expect some has to get the blame for maybe ,allsorts of reasons, why companies fold and go to the wall, would not be lack of maybe foresight ■■-investment in their own assets ,or just plain" made some cash" you or I will never know the true reasons why they all folded and they will never tell you or anyone the truth ,as we all know if you have been involved in transport for a long time dog will eat dog, under cutting is not a joint of meat , it is what road hauliers do to each other, and the truth well, not word used much especially when like me were a driver…im done…

Ironically it was more a speech on why we need to kick out the enemy within our own borders and stop more getting in and take serious action against Iran and Saudi where the Jihadist cause has its roots.

None of which are possible under present immigration policies and the present rules of engagement and strange Middle East alliances with the type of savages which Benn described and which Cameron supports.

No surprise that none of that is on his or Cameron’s agenda.More like pish off the Russians in a Russian area of interest that is of no strategic value to us and which will make no difference whatsoever to the threat we face from the Islamic world and Jihad. :unamused:

Bewick:
Following the atrocity in Paris last Friday who on TNUK thinks Corbyn is a liability and a danger to the UK ? After that murderous [zb] Jihadi John got slotted Corbyn more or less suggested it was wrong and we should have sent a couple of Plod to Raqqa to arrest the [zb] and bring him back to the UK to stand trial, then he has said to-day on “air head tele” (ITV) that our security service shouldn’t shoot to kill ! like " Howay now put your weapon down canny lad and don’t you think it would be safer to take that explosive vest off or you’ll mebe hurt someone including yourself and that will never do, we’ll get arrested then for permitting you to injure yourself" :open_mouth: But this what could happen if that [zb] Corbyn ever got into power. Cheers Bewick.

Oh not another Yvette Cooper supporter, Jeremy Corbyn in the elected leader your beloved Yvette lost, get over it Bewick.
