Don’t ask me. I don’t do impressions. Thank YOU
Know someone who worked for them, bit of a fussy fella, but said they were ok.
Still a Family business I beleave, Liked this though
LGV 1 Tramping Drivers
These jobs are for the traditional road haulage driver. You would have your dedicated own truck, in which you live and work, up and down the length of the country, delivering loads on behalf of our customers. Tramping Drivers at Jack Richards & Son enjoy good rates of pay, drive a less than 3 year old DAF XF 105 or Volvo FH12
I was intrested, what with me only being 20 mile from Fakenham, then I remembered that I’m at least 3-3/4 hours a week better off by driving 80 mile to Felixstowe each week coz I dont get 3/4 of an hour robbed from me every day, and the good rates off pay well thats a laugh. plus container work indulges my idle side.

Yes, every yellow truck on the road must belong to DHL
In that case DHL really have the Motorway maintainence contract sewn up
I think you will find that Jack Richards was using that colour palette long before DHL adopted it,
therefore by your logic DHL is part of Jack Richards
As for the company, Jack Richards is well known for paying the going rate, running legal and with slightly above fleet spec motors… so nothing special, but a reputation for being solid and dependable
Perhaps why he is still around and doing well when so many in that area have struggled or closed.

I work for them and the money is alright, did container work for 6 years and i have never looked back since joining Richards, they are a good company if you get on with the job…the money is alright imho and works out more a month than i was taking on Maritime and that’s with the 45 taken off and idont have to sit for hours on end at docks and inland container/rail yards like Pentalvers,Freightliner and ABP at Hams Hall.
surely the 160 mile round trip and the extra personal driving time to/from Felixstowe would cost you more than you would lose from the +_ 4 hr weekly deduction??

Nice fleet. What’s the score with a lot of your lads living em masse in haldens Parkway, Thrapston all week? That’s a 5 minute walk from my house over there, see them parked up when picking the wife up from work.

We do quite a bit of work out of one of the companies there,a lot of the trailers are dropped in there and loaded overnight, hence the parking up of wagons overnight even though its yellow lines all the way down.

Need any Thrapston based drivers?
Wouldn’t worry about the yellow lines, it just annoys the Spanish drivers waiting to get into Morrisons if your lads are parked there. Local plod rarely come into the town never mind bother going up there.

Always surprises me that the those trls don’t get the curtains slashed on night / weekend not that i’m suggesting our “flip flop” cousins ■■■■■ curtains
Gets fun down that road sometimes with all the trls / trucks parked … particularly when Morries shift leaves @ 4pm
i always like seeing jack richards trucks on the road cos i know " im following one of the best ".

I can only go by what others who I know, that have worked there in the past,( the in the past bit would tend to colour someone’s opinion).
But without talking pounds/shillings/pence, which I wont do on the open forum, i only have what I’ve been told to go on.
It only cost me £30 a week for petrol, and the time spent traveling doesnt bother me.
I have worked places were deductions take place, in the past, this seems to be a bit of a norfolk thing, and in all honesty it dont bother me that much provided you can earn, and that is what matters.
I maybe in the market to change employer soon, as at the end of next week the contract that I’m on comes to an end, a I will be put onto spot hire work. if I cant get the hours or nights away from Felixstowe on spot, then it wont make sense to make that journey on a Monday morning. If so I will give Richards a look as you seem quite positive about them,
