Is it true ?

was speaking to a chap today and he said that he had been stopped by vosa for a tach check and when they checked his cards they were legal but then vosa asked if he had a letter from his employer stating that he had had his statuory 45 hours rest because he may had done other work and not had his rest .i have never heard of that has anyone else ?

There is no requirement for such a thing in the UK. In France, you need such a letter (an Attestation) if you have had time off work other than at the weekend, e.g. a holiday.

Having said that, I was stopped in France after a holiday in Oman earlier this year and didn’t have one, but I showed them my passport which was stamped with my entry and exit dates to Oman and they were satisfied with that.

I’ve heard that story before and it was bullcrap then just as it is now.

dont it happen over the pond tho in germany etc where you need a letter or similar stating time off??
