As an agency driver I get in loads of different trucks yet without exception the small mirrors under the normal size ones are always set to see exactly the same view as the large ones! I always change them to what I believe they should be for I.e. looking at the blind spot down the sides of the cab.
Is it me or is there any reason to see the same view from both mirrors and leave a blind spot.
I’m always worried when I do something different to everyone else. So am I right.
As long as you see what you want from them, then yes, you are right
It’s a wide angle mirror it’s designed to show you a wide view of the main mirror so if it’s not doing that change it
I adjust the auxiliary ‘wide angle’ mirrors so that they cover the blind spot where a car can be alongside of me but where I can’t see it in my ‘normal’ mirrors.
ps… When I drive another vehicle, I have no qualms whatsoever about re-adjusting the mirrors to MY satisfaction, just as one would adjust the seating and steering wheel position to suit oneself…
Yeah cheers. I just don’t know why they’re all set wrong!

They may not be wrong for the regular driver. I’m quite tall so the first thing I do is move the seat back. Instantly I can’t see anything from the mirrors when I do this.
The only time I’ll try not to adjust the mirrors is if I’m preparing a truck to load for another driver.
