can anyone tell me why more and more supposedly professional drivers are needing to overtake me on roundabouts and through roadworks? is it that important to be first? am i just having a bad day or what?
One thing that is a complete no no for me is overtaking another artic when on a roundabout,That would be just asking for a âcrunchâ to happen!!!
If I am lighter/quicker Iâll use a roundabout to get past, but always Pulling away from the roundabout.
yes mate no problem- but on the approach AND going through it!!
if it wasnât bad enough that some try to overtake, it seems fair game to undertake as wellâŚAll scary stuff!!!
Before Christmas I was doing a night trunk to Leicester and the most dangerous drivers I encountered wereâŚmy fellow PROFESSIONALS
this is old but still true:
SPEED ON BROTHER âŚHELL AINâT HALF FULLâŚ!
Another one that [zb] me off is the drivers that have to pull in front as soon as they overtake, like 6 feet, whats the crack with that? leave it about 10 seconds and theres a good sized gap, easy aint it? I know a lot like seeing the individual dirt particles on the back of a trailer as they go along, I aint one of em. Pack it in!!
Mal.
6 feet Mal you were lucky, a red Iveco crawled/crept past me yesterday on the M62 and cut in so close I could read the number on the back door seal and he went on to do the same to another two trucks none of us got chance to flash him in

i was on the M8 east bound heading to fife got to harthill services, a wagon was coming on to the m/way so i pulled out to let him join. got past him. as he was a rigid he pulled out to pass me about half mile down the road. he was slowly but surely getting past me. the traffic was starting to build up behind him so i decided to drop back slightly so as he could get past,as i done this a car past me on the hard shoulder.could not believe it.wheres the plods when you want them
talking off proffesional drivers
my i congratulate the nft driver who decided to block the exit route from strensham services on tuesday night.
this pro decided last minute to go into the fuel station but couldnât be bothered to take his truck in there so parked on the exit route about 2foot away from the kerb so i couldnât get passed.
he seen me waiting and just strolled into the fuel station and comes back out without a care in the world no raised hand to say sorry or nothing
what a true proffesional may i salute you
jon
anotherthing you see more of nowadays is transits pulling trailers in the third lane of motorways.
i was pulling up to a roundabout at queensferry on thursday evening, noticed in my o/s mirror an artic pulling along side me,no problem thought he was turning right to go into the services there.no he was going straight ahead and so was i,problem is it goes down to one lane just as you get to the other side.so me being a half decent driver i pulled back to let him in and he was gone like a bat out of hell,no thankyou or nothing.next time i see any of that firms drivers i know what i wonât do.
The one thing that gets me âwound upâ is when i go to overtake an Artic , get level with his cab whereupon i get the obligatory âfunny lookâ and he zooms off in to the sunset!!

Can sympathise with you on that one Kitkat. That is a bad roundabout for idiots doing that. I have watched boys from the same company I work for doing that very manouever (tippers - Iâll say no more ). Itâs a bad roundabout. I personally wait in the queue of traffic patiently like everyone else instead of forcing my way through.
