Few days ago I went past an artic Flatbed carrying a container, didn’t see any locking nuts nor any straps holding the container. Possibly whoever loaded it was hoping that the weight will keep it in place. Surely this can’t be cosher as I thought containers have to be carried on specially adapted traliers. What about safety for others on the road?.
Quite probably on a PSK trailer…standing for Platform SKeletal.
Just a normal flat trailer but with twistlocks fitted …these are normally slightly wider than a container so unless you look closely you cant normally see the twistlocks.
All perfectly legal.
Unless of course it was on a trailer with no restrains then I would say its a bit dodgy.
Yeah I would suggest fitted with twistlocks, they can be difficult to spot if you are not sure what you are looking for, I think a lot of the younger guys would be unsure of these, in the good old days we had all our flatbeds converted with twistlocks and adapted to carry coils, 3 birds with one stone.
