Killing/Eating Herons has only been illegal since 1981.Its not illegal to frighten the buggers.They not only decimate ponds,they also kill smaller birds.

I knew someone who ‘Cross Bowed’ a Heron once. He had a big pond with an island in it. Heron’s still there, just buried under the Island. Lol.
