Have a pat on the back son, that’s what your after isn’t it. Just go in , do your work and go home. And repeat 3 more times and have a break

…hardly fair is it?
Life isn’t fair.
After three months in the job, I’d be keeping my head down and my mouth shut. It’s too soon to start kicking off about stuff and getting delusions of self importance. Remember Jonny, there’s about three million people banging on the door waiting for you to ■■■■ it up so they can step in.
After 3 months the only question you should be asking “am I jumping high enough” asking about discrepancies between you and the other apprentices is looking for trouble.
Well hopefully all should be ticketyboo and nothing needs to be sorted out. Although I will ask if they’re steering me more into the supervisor/management side of the apprenticeship with me getting the responsibility of looking after the second floor on most days. Just take it as it comes I think
Cheers
Jonny
I think you’re over thinking, training, apprenticeships for a warehouse.
My first job was a warehouse i got slung a broom and got told to get on wae it.
Collect your pay-packet spend your money and shag some dirtys forget all about this pish
What qualification do you get at the end. Is it a nvq. I got the last of the city and guilds in glasgow when I did my glazing apprenticeship.

As you’ll probably find I go to work, do my 12 hours go home and repeat 3 times until my 4 off. Just seems I’m doing more work compared to the other two
Well I’ve done the first part today in spending my money…But the last bit wouldn’t be wise around Knottingley & Ponte

nearly there:

Its supposed to be two qualifications, one being a health & safety certificate which I’ve already got but they insist I have to do it again And a certificate telling me I can do the same thing everyone else has been doing for years and not needed qualifications to tell them they can
But it puts money in my pocket, I can’t complain. Yet
Cheers

It’ll all end in tears!!!

Thought you said you were in charge of the upper level?
That’d be less work, not more, or else you’re not doing it right
They said that about my first job, the same people also said I wouldn’t last a month in my current job. I’ve been in my job 3 months coming into my 4th month, it’s not been easy but nor difficult either. I’m happy in my job and from what I can gather they’re happy with my performance and attitude to my job. But if people want to make their own judgements on it that’s fine, I just hope they like humble pie when I do complete this apprenticeship and can turn around and say I told you so
Even if I don’t get a full time job at the end of it, it doesn’t stop me looking for work just in case and maybe a bit more local so less travel needed but for the time being it’ll do
Cheers

I am, but I have to do the operative style stuff as well so 2 jobs in one meaning it’s more work I don’t mind it because I’ve dropped a stone and a half in the 3 months I’ve worked at clipper so it isn’t just financially and experience that i’m benefiting from

I’m sure everyone wishes you well but just remember in your appraisal ambition is good and arrogance is bad and it’s a very fine line between them.
I try not to come across as an arrogant little ■■■■ although at times I fail at doing so, but I think what my employers do like about me is the fact I do listen and pay attention even if sometimes it takes a while to sink in as I’m not the quickest of people when it comes to taking information in I share my own opinions and quite vocal about them but I know there’s a time and a place for them, and I’m open to other peoples opinions too although sometimes I may not agree with them they can and often sometimes come in handy.
Regarding where I work, I’ve honest from day one about what I want to do, and I was quite surprised when they said when it comes closer to the time they’ll see about helping me out career wise and they even said they’ll try get me upto their Leeds depot in the transport office for a couple of weeks to get a ‘feel’ for what it’s like in that department at clipper. So that was a nice touch of them to say they’d be willing to do that for me. From companies I have heard and read about I think i’ve landed it pretty lucky where I work, a bit of a cliche but it does feel like you’re looked after a bit like ‘one big happy family’ and I put as much in as I’m hoping to get out of it. And if I do get full time work at the end of it, I can just assume that I’ve done a ■■■■ good job and a job well earned.
Like my granddad used to say, no one got anywhere by starting at the top. You start at the bottom and work your way up the ladder to where you want to be. You’ll get knocked down a few times but it helps you in the long term so you know what mistakes not to do again. Call me sad but I’m quite looking forward to getting back to work now
Cheers

Well she dos’nt know so isn’t bothered.
I have some experience of warehouses. The pick is usually the be all and end all with everything else a secondary consideration. Loading and goods in, like picking can be monitored for kpi. If you are regularly bring given a job that isn’t then it means one of two things.
- They have a good opinion of you and trust you to do what needs doing without taking the ■■■■.
Or
- They think you are a cretin and have dumped you into a job where you can’t ■■■■ the figures up.
