Ireland,Britain and Denmark are part of the Schevingen (spelling?)agreement.Passports ARE required for entry,by road, air or sea. However, little or no controls at ports/borders.It would be a bad officer to stop you on your way,and a very unusual one, however it IS the law.Passports only.

Ireland and The United Kingdom are not part of the Schengen Agreement. The island of Ireland, Great Britain, The Isle of Man and The Channel Islands are part of The Common Travel Area and no passports are required for travel between these places. Travellers may have to show identity documents to prove they are entitled to travel within The Common Travel Area but it doesn’t have to be a passport. Plans are in place to introduce passport checks between the UK and Ireland which would bring an end to the Common Travel Area.

Sorry Coffeeholic, meant to say are NOT part of said agreement, however,so far as Im aware a passport IS required, but seldom insisted on between residents of the three territories. Lets agree to…

I’ve been there quite a few times in the past few years for my company. fishguard to Rosslare. Never been asked for identity. Do take passport when i remember.
