North or South … Ireland’s a lovely place !!!

Beautiful countryside, uncrowded and great people :sunglasses:

What about larne or east Belfast

No worse than Cullyhanna or Newtownhamilton!!! @

Still better than larne also east side of derry city it’s a [zb] hole

If you have a fall out with the local “gangsters” in Larne(Or East Derry/East Belfast for that matter!!),
they don’t hang you upside down in an abandoned barn and beat you to death with iron bars like they do in Cullyhanna

your quite correct there. the local pondlife (paramilitary or otherwise) much prefer the old tried and tested methods of showing their displeasure. a quick pipe bomb works wonders,or a bullet round the back of the pub…welcome to modern Ireland…(assuming your idea of modern is 1970)… :unamused:

Comparing Britain to Ireland is like trying to compare a bull to a sheep, so why waste your time even trying. They both have their advantages and disadvantages. One thing I will say about Ireland while still not perfect the overall improvement in the road infrastructure in the past 20 years since I started of driving professionally has been remarkable. I can remember leaving Galway in the west on a late Friday afternoon and taking 4 hours to get back to Dublin, the same journey at the same time now can be achieved in 2 hours. The same can be said about Dublin Belfast and Dublin Cork. When the Newlands Cross flyover is completed later this year it will be possible to drive from Belfast in the North to Cork in the South without meeting any traffic lights. Considering that in the mid 90’s the same journey would have meant driving through every town in Ireland between the two places thereby meeting literally hundreds of traffic lights I think its safe to say that driving conditions have improved considerably.
There are certain parts of the UK that need avoiding at the usual times but in general I enjoy driving in both countries but probably prefer the more laid back Irish roads.

Ireland would be infinitely a more pleasant place to live and drive for me also…when Ireland joined the eec, then eventually it started to get dragged screaming and kicking into the 21st century, with mega euro money being spent on the road infrastructure…and in true paddy fashion, they decided to dig a big tunnel into the Dublin port so trucks could avoid the city…so what do they do??.they build it 4 inches too low so that double deckers cant use it ffs!!..to resolve that problem what do they do■■?..they ban double deckers from Ireland,as they cant use the tunnels at Dublin, cork and limerick, paddy logic at its best…and problem solved.

ive never spoken to anyone in Ireland that’s seen a good looking bull, heres the obligatory jokes now…they raided a back street brothel in Donegal last week and arrested four sheep…what do you call someone from Ireland with more than 5 sheep??..a pimp…if your going to hump a sheep, then make sure its standing at the edge of a cliff, that way she will be pushing back at you…on your driving test if the instructor asks, can you make a u turn, the common answer is,yes, and il probably make her eyes water as well…u…ewe./.isn’t it just class to be living in Ireland compared to the uk…works for me
