Heading to southern Ireland next week for first time in god knows how long. Last time I remember showers/motorway services where few and far between, but can anyone advise if this has changed or any good motorway/services to grab a shower during the week? Thanks in advance.
Advice, don’t call it southern Ireland when you are there.
Motorway services Applegreen have showers. Parking and showers are free.

Well if you’re talking political of course it’s the Republic of Ireland, however I’m talking geographically - Cork and Waterford. I think the concern of calling it “southern” would be if I was going to Northern Ireland/North of Ireland (what ever your background/political view is)
If you’re going to Cork or Waterford via the motorway then the services are off line ie you have to leave at an exit to get to them, one minute drive from motorway all brand new.
All the Applegreen services are free to park and free showers, avoid the showers in the Topaz in Dublin unless you want to catch something. If you are coming through Dublin Toughers just off the M7 is a good spot to stop, come off at Naas south and head for Newbridge and it is off the first roundabout you come to, it has recently been done up although I’m unsure if it now has showers but good food there both in the garage and the restaurant. If you have a good limiter Toughers can be done in your hour shunt from the boat if you’re doing a ferry break.
