ir35 and owner

hey does any one know how this might have bearing on subbies who contract to a company

If you mean subbies who are driving their own lorry and sub-contracting loads from another haulier it won’t have any impact at all. This is more aimed at people who work like employees, driving a lorry someone else owns.

ok thank you my accountant said about it today as i sub for a large company i was starting to get concerned

Basically, the question to ask is “If I get a tyre blowout on the tractor unit, who is going to pay for it? Me or somebody else?” If it’s you then you don’t come within a million miles of the IR35 changes.

It’s always been the case that you can’t be a self employed ‘driver’.You also have to provide/own the vehicle/s you’re driving.

hi thats what i thought
