Ipods & mp3 players

I recently bought the £170 dogs bollox Apple ipod and it links up with iTunes whenever I connect it to my computer. With the musicians complaining about losing out on royalties through free download sites, I’m wondering if pretty soon iTunes will delete all the free downloads I’ve got on my ipod and iTunes site. So far I’ve got over 5,000 tracks on it and would be mightily cheesed off if it all gets wiped off.

I’m also interested if anyone knows of other ways to get stuff on ipods and mp3 players.

Open your favourite newsreader and do an MP3 search

It is not physically possible for Apple to delete anything of your ipod.It may be possible through firmware updates for Apple to restrict what an ipod will play but that’s about it.There is plenty of free mp3 music available and an ipod is unable to determine its legitimacy so you have nothing to be worried about.

Your tunes will not be erased by anyone unless you do it.

Whatever you have music or films, you stick them into iTunes, do all the playlists as you want, matters not were they come from, imported from a CD or from a dodgy download file. I have a jailbroken iPhone and Apple are not able to do anything about that when I plug it into iTunes. Apple however are a bit ■■■■ about sharing between iPods, so sticking your iPod into someone else’s iTunes so they can download your stuff is not possible, but there is a mountain of free software that can do that job, all things are possible.

BUT, no Apple are not spying on you, nor can they delete your dodgy music tracks, only your fat fingers can do that.

If you are really worried about your tracks, then backing them up to a external hard drive might give piece of mind, I have done that, but not a Apple worry, just my fat fingers worry.

Cheers guys.
