Strange I run Co Pilot on my Android phone and it’s all saved/installed internally.
Had a problem with a recent map update and the support team at Co Pilot were
able to resolve it by telling which files to delete from the Co Pilot folder on the
phone.
I would have thought an Iphone would have been the same or else
thats a lot of data being transferred over the network.
Mr b copilot maps are stored on your phone the live link side or connected bit is only for tracking/messaging and traffic if you have it
The truck app works very well and can plan a mutt drop route and optimise the drops on the phone can be useful as with most truck apps now truck restrictions are shown on the map
Ive had a tom tom one xl western europe for a few years now. My mate had hold of it and put truck routes and lane guidance on an sd card for me. Just lately its started to drop signal a lot and lose all the sattelites. Is it on its way out? Ive seen co pilot truck on iphone advertised in this months trucking mag. Its £131 for the european version
Question is has anyone used it over a length of time and is it any good?
Tempted to buy one at the mo, will it need a special cradle as well tho?
thanks. jon
Mr B:
i run co-pilot on my jail breaked iphone as back up only because as good as co-pilot is it doesn’t store the maps internally so any net work problems can leave up the greek of no paddles .
The drawback with modern mapping systems with phones like Android is that they don’t store the maps on the device but use the data usage to download the data, like with ‘Google Maps’.
Older systems, such as Tom Tom, Navigon and Co-Pilot already have the maps on the device and thus can be used in areas without data access. I prefer this option and it is what I use on my phone/PDA. I also can’t afford the data access
I don’t have the truck version as I do the same route every night. But the standard copilot on both android and iPhone is wonderful to use. Also cheaper than other options.
Hi all, I’m thinking of getting the CoPilot Truck app, I’m just getting started looking for work(again, long story) and will need all the help I can get when I land my first job
Is there anyway to get it cheaper than £139 from AppStore? Can’t find a jailbroken one.
There is no money in smart phone apps so no point in trying to create one. My iPhone is jailbroken so I don’t pay for apps. I got the Tom Tom Europe app for nothing and is just as good as a proper Tom Tom. But as I say there’s no point making one unless it’s going to be free.

Yes, here Page Not Found same mapping and £113 at app store. just bought it for ipad and iphone. Testing next week.
It is a good piece of kit. Compatible to tom-tom truck once you have set it up right. A lot of (uneccasary) variables such as speed limits for various roads in my opinion, but the display is fantastic. Easy to zoom in and out, only shows bridges under your height and shows weight limits too. Speed camera updates are free as is the next map update.
No regrets getting this and have ditched the laptop now.

I use copilot on my iphone as a backup, there is also an option to set your vehicle as an RV which routes you along major roads and not tight streets and roads
Finally put copilot Truck on my iPhone, worryingly on a demo run it was happy to send a 44t artic down a road where I know there’s a bridge with a 2t weight limit î

I’m a bit concerned now lol
More test routes needed
Its crap compared to tomtom truck, it has loads of weight and height limits missing
Glad I didnt pay for it
we have co pilot m d ts from work sometimes there great but now n again its gone a bit mental eg it once tried takin me to a 9ft bridge yet the day after im goin through a tunnel in leeds n its beepin at me tellin me i should b on that rd i have been told that these issues are more to do with the office ■■■ settin the dimentions for the truck i would say overall they are a good peice of kit
From what I can tell, there isn’t a version of CoPilot’s Truck software for Android. However, the reviews for the personal version on Android is probably good enough.
Planning an upgrade in the next month or so so will probably end up with the Personal one depending on what ALK support tell me.
I’ve got a Windows Mobile which is on its last legs
